Dear friends, Vinia, Frou Frou, Bienchen, Euridice, Tango, Fritillary, Lanit, Metzfan, and if I forgot someone, please forgive me. Thank you so much for your honesty. I wasn't looking for the obligatory compliment and I appreciate your thoughts about the girl who is going back. I am a "classic" dresser but I like what Tango said about the movement of this shawl being static. It is a gorgeous scarf. No argument, but for me, I need more passion, vitality, and living things on my scarves. I missed this until now. And the Kimono I tried--I'm sure it was just the wrong cw for me because I just saw cw 1 on the thread dedicated to this shawl, and she screamed at me. So, I will take the journey back to Hermes. Knowing what I have learned will be invaluable for later decisions. Thank you my dear Silkies!

:hugs:I hope you find the perfect shawl---or maybe even not a shawl---for you! What I was mainly responding to were comments about how shawls that others thought were fabulous (Brazil, ExLenK, Tendresse F) didn't seem to really appeal when you tried them on. But you're right, it could be the colorways, so best to clear your mind, keep it open, try things on with your SA's help, and who knows what you'll discover!!

It strikes me that learning our true scarf styles and philosophy is a journey to self-knowledge! I mean, beyond just scarves! Awesome.

So do I, Vinia.

I'm surprised no one has posted Voyage en Etoffes yet. :search: I remember that being a popular scarf back in 2009.

And I think there's a few more of you, I recall, with Annie scarves we haven't see displayed yet. Textilegirl, don't you have a Sur un Tapis Volant? I believe GollyG has Amours. I seem to recall someone else has Mare Nostrum....

Here is my Voyage en Etoffes. One of my absolute favorite scarves. Complete with monkey. This is from the archives because I posted it a few months ago. I guess I should have posted this for the transition between red and Annie weeks.

Thanks for letting me share. Off to see if I can find a little monkey...

Special thanks to beautiful Tango Tosca for being a wealth of knowledge.

that is a very pretty colorway of Voyage. Here's my GM of it, also from the archives since it is too hot here to wear this today!

Wow this design is so pretty! It's a pity I've only started being a scarfie this season. Thanks for sharing! Love Annie's designs.

I never thought I would say this, but here is my blue monkey! Thanks to sparklelisab for where to find this, I'm sure it saved my eyes last night. :p

TangoTosca, love how you are calling out those Annie Faivre owners!! :graucho:

Dear Euridice, well said...so true:thinkin:

I keep referring to TangoTosca's circus thread and how it opened my eyes to scarf patterns and how to look at them "beyond the flat."

Thanks to everyone for the modeling shots. This thread is a daily visual seminar and a treat! I even learn from the comments:p

Oh, my! That's the most stunning colorway of Kimono et Inros I've ever seen. This cw is completely new to me. What an absolute treat, licencetocook!

But, don't drive yourself crazy looking for the monkey. Apparently Annie Faivre first put a monkey in her designs in 1989, and your Kimono et Inros is from 1986 - one of the first designs she ever did for Hermes.

And thank you for your sweet compliment. "Scarfing" ranks very high on my list of favorite activities and I love to share and learn from other people who feel the same way :shame:

I dunno, Lanit. I think your eyes may be playing tricks on you. I think I may have to side with Scarf Addict here... I'm just not convinced there *is* a monkey in Grands Fonds.

Monkey or no monkey, however, Grands Fonds is an Annie Faivre classic, and it lends beauty to all who wears it: Lanit's scarf, Bienchen's shawl, Ladybaga's pochette, and Sushi Queen's bangle!

Wearing mine today in an attempt to "ape" Hair-mess. I think I need to go back and review her instructions... her's wasn't as a long as mine turn out to be.

Hey we are GF twins:ghi5: Yes I have scoured the scarf with a fine tooth comb and I believe there is no monkey in Grand Fonds. I've tried squinting and everything - no joy LOL! Looking great in yours anyway Tango!
