I am not sure what the theme is this week :shame: and I'm sure this won't quite fit but I am very happy to be back :yahoo:

I have shown these already on the S/S scarves thread, Lanit suggested I show it here too  I'm pleased I found something from this season and sooooooooooo happy with this scarf :yahoo:

Ooh I love this one PT! I've had a look at it several times! Great choice and looks lovely on you. COngrats.

Yes Mr. Hubris. :giggles: I wanted to mention your name in my post but feared I might spell your name wrong and avoided the chastising.... :hugs:You really are fabulous with your doubles Mickaeldytyn!!

 Hope Michel's gallic humour extends thus far...

A really stunning combination: the pinks and golds of EA and PdE make an unexpected jackpot, waaay to go, sparkles!

Fantastic scarf displayed with innovative chic, bravo PT!:woohoo:
I know you've been eyeing this one so I've been kind of anticipating...yet this outing has exceeded expectation....going back in for a closer look!!

lanit, I know this cw of Tsubas was somewhat of a surprise for you, but I think you really lucked out; it's gorgeous, and very different from your usual brights. It may have you considering other, previously avoided, colors. Really, really stunning. Oh, and did I mention that I have been scouring the land (well not quite, as I am on the dreaded Ban ;) ) for a horn piece exactly like this? So In Love, and the combination with Tsubas is TDF. (That arabesques is a dangerous woman, LOL!)

pierina, what a fabulous collection of Lalbhais in your signature blue hue! Thank you for your lovely sentiment on my Couvertures; one of the cws of this design has a turquoise element in it; it wasn't meant for me but....just sayin' :graucho:

Euridice, thank you! The Ban and I have a tug of war going on; not sure who's winning at the moment ;)

pond23, thank you! I predict it will be love-at-first-sight on Tuesday and look forward to seeing your pics :p

frou frou, thank you! I couldn't agree more about the cost-per-wear factor, I can see this one whittling it's way down to pennies! Anytime I want to wear a CS GM, and don't feel I have the right color combo working, this one is likely to fit the bill.

sophieg, thank you! Congrats to you on your new Point d'Orgue! I love that prune cw; mission accomplished indeed!

arabesques, what can I say? You NEED a Couvertures GM! It meets many if not all of your criteria - not too much going on by way of a busy pattern, interesting border (I happen to love the stripes), and minimal coloration. It's kinda like your favorite Mors et Gourmettes (do I misremember that?) only a big bundle of yummy cashmere and silk. Oh, and iconic design but not toooo staid. Big chunk of change but this one is worth every penny! Me? Enable? Nah!

pussywillow, thanks for sharing J'aime again, I'm lovin' the way that looks on you! And thanks for appreciating my Couvertures; I think you need a personal relationship with this one, KWIM? :graucho:

sparkle, WOW! This double-your-pleasure, double-your-fun thing is getting interesting! Great fugue on fuschia!

papertiger, so happy 'see' you again! Clic Clac a Pois is super! It's among a number of 70cm designs that have piqued my interest this season. You make an effective case for that mors ring although I may try the tack shop version in an effort to economize (practicing my rationalizing of future silk purchases ;))

I am so glad you posted these. A tiny piece of this scarf was shown in the accessories preview and I have been dying to see it ever since. What could be more chic than brown and black together. I love it! This wll be the grail this season.

*Irisj* congrats on the blog

My little expedition to Madison Avenue was successful :graucho::graucho: Despite my intention to buy something black and white and not purple, I am introducing Point d'Orgue in aubergine/rose/prune. It does look a thousand times better on me than black and white, and does go with reds and blacks, which was my objective. So mission accomplished, I think!

sophig Your smile says it all. You look so happy! I am a big fan of b&W but it took about a year before could choose a b&W scarf over bright colors. The best colors will light up your face and produce the kind of smile in your pictures. You look BEAUTIFUL! And your knots are fantastic.

Ok, I admit defeat for now; too many (gorgeous) posts to comment individually. This thread :urock:

DH and I spent a lovely weekend away and this shawl was my constant companion - Couvertures CS GM (ardoise/bourgogne). When I spied this one at my boutique resistance was futile, my supposed Ban notwithstanding (ha, take that you stupid ban!).

I gather these are a bit difficult to find, but if any of you are teetering on the GM CS slope, this design from the men's collection is a brilliant neutral -- goes with e-v-er-y-thing!

I love your neutral shawl textile girl. I think that I will finally buy one this year. This is a terrific look to think about.

I just realized tis is navy rather than black, which is even better. I am going to be obsessing over this one.

Thank you everyone for enjoying my Reve de Gloria with me!

Sparkleslisab - Way to rock the two scarf look!!! Great combining of color between the pink Aux Pays des Epices and gold Early America. What color of nail polish is that? Please tell me it's something OPI. I adore the the names of their polishes.

Sophiag - Your smile is absolutely infectious. I'm sitting here just grinning back at you. :D Gosh, what a fantastic accompaniment to your gray jacket and purple top... you look "plum" gorgeous!!

Papertiger - You is killing me! I'm such a sucker for polka-dots... has there been a happier pattern invented, ever? Looks great on you, great to see you again!

Pussywillow - Your posts never fail to delight me, nor does your J'aime Mon Carre :smooch:

Bienchen - I sure do miss you around here. Thank you for showing of your beautiful Sous le Cedre, I love the mosaic effect and I wish we saw more of them around.

Lanit - What a wonderful match for the Tsubas against your new horn pendant. What a great addition that is to your wardrobe.

Textilegirl - Congratulations on your marvelous new Couvertures shawl. Fantastic colorway and it looks great on you.

*Euridice* what a glorious pairing with Lalbhai and ExLenK

Thanks so much!! And, you look gorgeous in your Point d'Orgue in aubergine!! This is an especially lovely colorway.

Euridice, Love this combination! The colors and designs work so well together, and the result puts a smile on my face. Thank you for this little bit of happiness.

:smile1: Thanks so much!!

The Scarf Moodist showed us her yellow JAMC in this link which I believe froufrou adapted for her navy one: I've not been able to locate frou's post but perhaps she will be able to re-post the photo she took of her knotting.

http://thescarfmoodistcollection.bl...:00+01:00&max-results=3&start=6&by-date=false

Due to its bolduc border, this scarf is a brilliant contender for the waterfall knot for which you'll find instructions on MaiTai's Picture Book
http://www.maitaispicturebook.com/2011/02/waterfall-knot-how-to.html

Here's my cack-handed rendition of the same with an archive pic of my navy JAMC...

Wow, my mind is just blown! Scarfmoodist is gorgeous, and a genius to boot!! I need to go back and read this whole blog.

But wow, I think your waterfall knot is just wonderful and shows the bolduc border to perfection!!

We seem to have had a double your pleasure week inadvertently! What a wondrous pairing, Euridice: good to see How To pics as some of us might be adverse to knotting different sized scarves together (me) but it's not a problem here at all - in fact, the unmatchedness adds to the overall effect

Thanks!! I'll work on more seamless integration :graucho: next time to keep you guessing!! hee hee

Euridice, I'm honored to be "cousins" with you on Point d'Orgue. I love knowing more about who designed my scarves but nothing really turned up on Pierre Marie. I remembered this exchange between you and Frou Frou and was curious to hear if you knew anything more :smile1:

Well, I did google Pierre Marie and didn't find a whole lot. There was a website that had some pics of his art including Ombrelle magique: http://www.admanagement.com/#/ad/20/15/

but just now when I was googling to find this link again, I found that he did indeed design Mademoiselle Soie!! http://yyplady.piwigo.com/picture?/4763/category/100-pierre_marie

I was wondering about that, lol.

Hello Silkies, I wanted to accent my pink nails and toes and tied Early America and Aux Pays des Espices together. This is my first attempt at doubling like Euridice did days ago. I am tall so the long Espices trailing down was appealing to me. Who knows. Maybe I will look at pics next week and wonder what I was thinking. For today, pink and giddy. I can't even tell you how excited I am about this new idea since I will get to double the wear of my silks. Since my collection is still limited with designs/colors--don't have 30 blue beauties like Pierina does, I am now going to buy a few new scarves based not just on swoon-factor, but on ability to double with an already owned lovely. Thanks for letting me share!

I am BLOWN AWAY!!! This yellow/pink color combo is just gorgeous, but then to put these two scarves together, it's just TO DIE FOR!! Wow, I especially love that Early America, that is just so beautiful.

Isn't great to double the wear of your silks? You definitely need more scarves now!! :D

Thank you maedi, sophieg, froufrou, arabesques, tango, textile, I hope I did not forget anyone - I appreciate all the lovely compliments on Tsuba and the Dalva pendant.

Textile - you are killing me with your new GM - and for being on a ban, I am wanting to jump on the "ban"d wagon with Couvetures. I do know one coloration that I have a problem with usually - it is the 'mastic' color in the cashmere/silks. It can really kill my skin tones for some reason. It looks fabulous on you! Perhaps I need to look at the brighter coloration as Ladybagas.

PT - my sweet friend - you always look so cool in the way you choose and wear your silks. I truly thought this was two silk scarves and not one. Especially your second photo with the double points on your neckline? Would it be too much trouble to ask for you to photograph this interesting silk of yours flat? It suits you so perfectly! Reminds me of the dots in my TR pointu.

sophieg - you look totally fantastic in your aubergine PdO - I agree with all the compliments - it really makes you glow and your SA did you an enormous favor in assisting in your selection!

pussywillow - your comments and your posts are always so fun and thoughtful - but even better is when you model your silks for us with such great joy. And you JamC is befitting of your smile too.

sparkle
-dear you are rocking these pinks and oranges and then your nails are truly a match made in heaven!

What do you do when you don't have a scarf to go with your top? You wear one anyway!! I have my brand new Axis Mundi in CW 11 noir/noir. I can't get over how stunningly gorgeous I find this scarf.

I have a bit of a story behind this, and a question for y'all. I made a spontaneous trip to Hermes late Saturday afternoon (it's a 2 hour drive so I usually plan in advance!). I had received a scarf that was shipped to me from another store and when I opened it Thursday I noticed a tiny snag with a run in it first thing. So, I decided to take it to the store to have them look at it then just deal with the return there instead of me having to ship it back someplace.

Well, I kept being spontaneous after I got to the store---I wasn't supposed to do that, geez! Lol! I think I purchased my first H bag ever, which certainly wasn't planned (I might have dreamed this---if it arrives tomorrow I'll know it was real, since I had it shipped). After I had completely finished and was waiting for my SA to wrap up my scarves, I was looking at the scarf case and saw one I couldn't identify---looked like tree branches with stars on it.

My SA took it out and was surprised since she didn't know they had it. She asked if I wanted her to put it aside for me, and I said actually I'll buy it now!!

I don't know what I am more excited about, my first bag or this scarf!!!! Just goes to show, if being spontaneous feels right, drive to H and you might just get your own Axis Mundi!!!!!

Euridice - what a great story. I loved reading it and congratulations on both this stunning scarf and your bag (I cannot wait to see which one you chose. Is it your first?)

I always have the hardest time posting pictures. DH came to my help. So finally a few snaps from the past weeks, some oldies, some newer ones. :smile1:

Fleurs d'Indiennes - one of my very favorite scarves in a color I probably wouldn't have picked if I hadn't tried it first. Furthermore, I bought this at the Festival de Metiers after seeing this design printed right there albeit in different colors so I have fond associations with this scarf.
Jungle Love in yellow which is a great color for this pattern.
Cheval Marwari in orange - orange is difficult for me to wear as you can see by the strange color of my chin.:D
