wow this thread is going so fast I can't keep up!

so thanks to BlueGenes, MiaT, Rose, Jennzy, Vanmiracle and MaiTai!
I returned today to order a calvi. I should hear back from my SA this week to know if what I asked for is still available in Paris or not!

Jennzy: really it is the simplest thing I have done: I folded my gavroche in the basic fold and put each end of it crossing each other in the scarf ring.
You might have some trouble doing this with your scarf ring if it is heavy though

and I love that way to tie a twilly! never thought about it!

MaiTai: I know I have said this already, but... (sorry can't find the words in english) ... mais vous avez vraiment une prestance formidable! C'est le chic-naturel français à son meilleur!

LittleH: I really love your scarves, but each time I see a post from you I am more and more in love with your cat! it is the most gorgeous little thing!!

capulet: (as you can see you are not the only one behind here :p) I love the colours of your jardin d'arménie, so rich!

dou.dou: I am so pleasantly surprised by the glam scarf! I really thought it wouldn't be to my taste, but it really works on you!

I really love how you draped onde de chic on yourself, I never manage to make something look so natural on me. And you are right about the colour: it really brightens one's day!

the way you tied marwari is really gorgeous. I know the knot is simple but on the second picture it falls so flawlessly! And the scarf itself is TDF

liness92: every time I see you post a new picture with a plissé, I want one more! Thank you so much for sharing these! They really have a soul of their own.

rileygirl: you are the sweetest lady on earth I am sure. Your smile is amazing, I can't stop looking at it! (sorry I am repeating myself here too :sweatdrop:)

and thank you so much for sharing pictures of voyages en H! it is an amazing scarf, and is definatly on my MUST BUY list for this year! The colours are really gorgeous on you too!

margieb: this is such a beautiful way to tie a scarf!! Thanks for the idea!

xiaoxiao: beautiful cheveux qutaris but... what a beautiful jade bangle!!

arabesques: kimonos is gorgeous, one of my grails right now. I love this colourway, thank you so much for sharing!

guccigal: I love how you tied your india scarf, I never tried that but I must, it looks so cosy!

hi there,
Could someone please advise me on how i can obtain a gavroche ring? I approached my local store, down under, and they didn't know what i was talking about! Then proceeded to tell me that one couldn't be ordered, and then in the next breath said they were discontinued. I am beside myself with desperation for one or more of these rings. I need the black one and would love a red one too. Is it possible for me to contact a store overseas and get them to check their stock and if they have one, to ship to me? But they don't know me, so would they do this? Would they need some sort of id? I could pay with amex, would that make a difference? Your help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.:heart::heart:

wantitneedit - there was a green gavroche ring in Sydney about 2 weeks ago. I saw red, black and orange gavroche rings in Noumea last week. The store's contact details are in the listing of Hermes stores - their English is reasonable but if you speak French, it would help more! I'm sorry but I don't know if they post.

bags to die for, thanks for letting me know:heart:. I do not speak French though. Is it possible to contact a store via email to ask if they post internationally, i wonder? it would seem futile if i had to call up every single store in my region if they had them, and midly depressing too!

rileygirl As I am a proud owner of a Hornring too I can imagine how much you like yours. Congrats on your new finds!
THE NEW SCARF BOOK IS OUT! ?? I want to see!
Me too! Can't you make pics for us? PLS, PLS!

allanrvj I love your changing signatures!

Rose

Semur-en-Auxois WELCOME!!!

dou.dou Not only the scarf and the pics are pretty. I think the SO Kelly is just perfect on you.

wantitneedit I am sorry to say that I am looking for a second gavroche ring for a year now. You are not alone :shrugs:

MiaT, LuxuryinWichita, liness, Allan, Jennzy, xiaoxiao, Semur-en-Auxois, dou.dou, arabesque, aminie and Van - glad you enjoyed my Paris pic, I did take it with you ladies and gentlemen in mind. Thank you all for your lovely comments

MiaT, not sure how often they change them, perhaps once a month?

Allan, I only got a couple of books. Love their reading corner, so tranquil.

arabesque and Semur-en-Auxois - the place was stocked to the brim - i.e. well prepared for Chrismas shoppers.

Jennzy, thanks for posting the Seoul pic.

Semur-en-Auxois - welcome to this thread! You will have a lot of fun here, looking forward to seeing pics of your treasures!

dou.dou - glorious Marvari, beautifully worn by you.

xiaoxiao, looks lovely as a belt too!

A-T-G aww a relapse, how unpleasant - hope you'll get rid off it soon!

aminie ~ merci :flowers:

mrb4bags - thanks for the update!

Rose, which material??

Here is my scarf today--Paradis du Roy, an old design from Annie Faivre (my Hermès hero).:heart::heart:

Aminie, I love the Kimonos design, too. It was my second scarf, found used on ebay. It's funny, because while it isn't my favorite (i.e., most beautiful scarf), it's the one I wear the most. Everything I own looks great with it, as the design is filled with various colors. Depending on which bias I fold it, it looks very different with different color accents. I fell for it because I researched Kimonos as part of my Master's thesis. I couldn't imagine not having it.

What a gorgeous scarf!! You look beautiful. I, too, love Annie Faivre. She is a true artist.

Wow, could I ask what was your thesis about?
I have an obsession with kimonos. They are so gorgeous, so simple, yet super complex. And I love the subtle variations that are due to age, rank, formality, season... I wish I could read japanese sometimes because good (ie more than purely superficial) documentation on that matter in occidental languages is really tiny. I already have more than a dozen books on the subject, and I have to fight for not buying loads of them in japanese even though I could not read them... they are just too fascinating!

(and if you have good books to recommand, pleeaaase share them!)

Aminie, I can easily imagine that you are more versed in kimonos than I! It's been 12 years since that thesis, and the research in kimonos was to support research in more contemporary textiles. I remember the plates of a few books vividly, but not the titles. Besides, the literature on textiles has seemed to grow and grow in the past decade--I bet you have the pick of the bunch. My opinion? *Go and get them--no matter if they're in Japanese or not!* Language should never stand in the way of love.
