Which Messenger/Convertible Bags Are You Loving Right Now?

Here is the Marc by Marc Jacobs saddelry sophie bag in tobacco. It is about the size of the regular Alexa. I own an Oversized Alexa Oak. The saddelry sophie fits what one would need for a day out an about and it actually fits my ipad though it is a bit snug. I love the MBMJ Sophie and plan on carrying it for the rest of the week. This is my first MBMJ bag and the leather is really beautiful.

I also have a Balenciaga Folk bag in castagna which is an awesome crossbody bag.

I love my Oversized Mulberry Alexa Oak. She is truly my favorite bag and my Holiest of Grail bags. What I love about the Mulberry Alexa is that it combines all the qualities of a handbag that I love - Flap bag, Turnlock, can be hand held or crossbody which makes the bag so functional for me. If I had to sell off ten bags to have one Alexa I would recommend it in a heartbeat. Alexa is just that beautiful and slouchy. She looks great when one is dressed boho or tailored. Either way she rocks. My next bag will most likely be the new the Mulberry Crossbody Bayswater - see photo below of the Mulberry Crossbody Bayswater as well as my Alexa.

TejasMama: Sorry, I don't know how much the crossbody bays is or when it will be available. I only know that the Mulberry Spring 2011 bags will start arriving at stores in early January 2011. If I find out more from Mulberry I will let you know. I am rehoming some bags so that I can get this bag. The Mulberry crossbody bays might well be the only bag I buy next season. Check out the link below from Fashionweek where Spring 2011 Mulberry bags are highlighted. There is a lovely Alexa Camera style bag as well which is great.

I know that it is a big jump from Mid Range priced bags to a bag like the Alexa but I think that one can have at least one really high end bag in a collection especially if it is one that you will use. I just sold off some bags to get Alexa. I am trying to have a smaller collection of bags that I really love. Alexa was a no brainer for me. I truly love her.

^ I LOVE the Alexa. It's No. 1 in the list of bags I would get if I were willing to pay $1K for a bag. Maybe I'll get a nice used one someday.

I agree Karmen--the Alexis is a really gorgeous bag. I'm so happy to see these new twists on flap messenger/convertible bags right now. It is my favorite silhouette for a bag and I love that they are so popular again--although I'm not sure that they really ever went out. I carry what I like, and if I do that long enough, it's bound to be popular again someday!

I have to share this because I'm very excited that I finally found the perfect laptop/messenger bag! I haven't had anything to carry my laptop in for a couple of years other than a longchamp that I use for lots of things and I was so excited to find this at the Fossil Outlet. The leather is a rich whiskey color; the laptop section has a snap with plenty of room and pockets galore!

It is very comfortable to carry and can be worn crossbody or on the shoulder. It's called the Decker E/W Messenger. I can tell this bag is only going to get better with age...

The sides have pockets--one side has two pen loops, which I love! The back has a slip pocket for business cards. This bag feels like it's ready to travel and go on lots of adventures...

Here are a couple of photos of my new Fossil laptop messenger at the Denver airport. I really love this bag and I think I can use it as a day bag as well for when I don't need my laptop. It has the following inside:

• Case with other electronics chargers

• iPad
• Large Paperback Book
• Gum, Mints, Powerbars
• Case with Pens
• Cough Drops
• Digital Camera (in outside snap pocket)
• Moleskine Notebook
• Loose Papers folded

This bag has so many pockets that I can't even show them all. It's so well thought out and practical, and I love how it reminds me of an old flight bag. My husband said it looks a little 'Indiana Jones,' which is why I adore it. The shoulder strap is very comfortable and lets me wear it crossbody or as a shoulder bag.

Crossbody convertible bags are my favorite. I also love great leather, but can not pay hundreds. I am looking at an Elliott Lucca that is less than $200. Their leather is buttery!
