Which Messenger/Convertible Bags Are You Loving Right Now?

I am researching on crossbody satchels. Looking for a camel colour satchel with crossbody and handle option, preferably with adjustable straps. I came across this Fossil Vintage Re-Issue Satchel retailing for about USD 250. Looks nice though not sure about leather quality, and the strap seems too short for crossbody.

For those with experience in Fossil, how do you find the leather quality? I'd appreciate hearing your comments and thoughts. Also, any other leather crossbody satchel recommendations (pref below USD 300) will be helpful. Thanks!

I really like what Fossil has been doing lately with messenger and crossbody styles. You might need to try that style on to see if the messenger strap feels comfortable for you. I have a fossil bag and it's adjustable and wears well crossbody. Good luck!

I used to be a big shoulder girl bag but I find myself now gravitating towards crossbody/ handheld styles. Part of it is due to back issues and I think part of it is due to changing tastes.

The Cole Haan Park Hyde Messenger bag is PERFECT! The leather is beautiful and durable and it's extremely practical. Love, Love, LOVE it!! I bought one from NM in the Loden and loved it so much I ordered another one---to keep for a backup. Tried to find more but no luck.
Saw that Bluefly was offering it in an Aubergine color and ordered two of those to keep for backups. I have used my loden one everyday---in the rain---using it heavily and the leather has gotten soft, weathered, and more beautiful. I use it for a purse and to carry documents--as a briefcase. Hope Cole Haan brings it back in more colors---but hopefully exactly like this one.
I'm addicted to expensive designer bags but this bag isn't a compromise by any means---it's beautiful and practical. Can't say enough about it

I bought a long leather strap on ebay and have converted a few of my bags to crossbody bags... it worked really well on my Jimmy Choo celeste! I am thinking it will work on my Bal Twiggy, too!

I'm LOVING this Lauren by Ralph Lauren messenger I just picked up today. To me, it is the epitome of classic messengers. It's not convertible, but ...er... it still applies I guess. There are a ton of beautiful messengers out there and I've seen a lot of them in this thread

Hi klb4556 ---- I'm loving you're crossbody! Could you please tell me exactly the name and model of the bag? Would you know if it comes in any other colour? Would appreciate a photo of the inside of the bag. How do you find the hardware -- is it easy to get in and out of?

Bumping this thread.... Looking for recommendations on the perfect messenger / convertible crossbody satchel for travelling/sightseeing/lazy days

Preferably:

* with handle and adjustable crossbody strap pockets outside and compartments inside
* can withstand rain, heat or snow
* big enough to store a journal, camera, towel, water, wallet but light enough for carrying around while sightseeing, shopping, touring, etc.
* stylish yet functional
* price: EUR 1500 or below

Thought I'd revive this thread with a couple of additions...

Of course, the Cambridge Satchels are wildly popular with their old school British design and manufacturing in England (very cool)... (in red--my favorite)

The new Roots Small School Bank in Tangerine (also comes in Royal Blue), and

The Belen Echandia Barcelona Convertible Satchel..very sophisticated but can still go anywhere...

And the Belen Echandia New York Satchel Mini (on model)...

Anyone else have new styles to add?

RM made the Jules satchel in some very pretty suede colors last season, not sure if they are still around since it's spring.
