I carried my neon coral ps1 to the dentist, and both the dentist (a woman) and the dental nurse admired the colour a lot, although I don't think they recognised the bag.

The only bag that really gets noticed for me is my Mulberry mini Alexa, because Mulberry is a pretty recognisable brand in the UK even for non-fashion minded people. I used to have a colleague who would compliment my mini Alexa every time I carried it, but never my BV, Givenchy Antigona, Bal etc. I don't think she knew what they were. :D

Oh I do this too! It's so nice to see people smile at a compliment. I've had a few nice ones - years ago - at the peak of It-Bag madness - I had a meeting at Harvey Nichols and the first thing the Buyer said was, "ooh great bag!" about my Balenciaga First. At a meeting in Ireland, one of the managers was cooing over my Work and at a blogger event, the same bag got lots of lovely compliments.

I get most compliments on my Oryany bag. Probably its unique color? I think it's funny; it's definitely not a super pricey bag. But I love it, too! Such luscious leather...

I love this thread! Great idea, OP! I do receive compliments from women...mostly SAs, and I'm a teacher so I get lots of sweet, sincere compliments from teenage girls...("You have the best bags!")...I'll even get comments from the most "macho" boys in the room ("Sweet bag!"..."That bag is sick!"), which always cracks me up and tickles me!

I have had strangers compliment my LAMB bags (Union which is pairs of light and dark brown lambs and Calligraphy Roses which is roses in shades of white, gray and black). These are actually my least expensive bags because they were $250-300 retail and I bought them on sale for a lot less.

Although the link u are providing is specific to Hermes, which I can understand why they'd get gawked at! I totally gawk at H bags but I think at that price level I won't feel comfortable complimenting strangers on that...mostly because I've only seen it on older ladies with their husband on the street and the context would be too weird.....I think....

Thanks! When I think about the attention my bag has gotten, all my bag pains go away!

It is cute, isn't it?! It always takes me by surprise because they really do notice everything. They loved my Coach black gathered leather sophia (since sold, sadly), my bright lime green lambskin leather mini crossbody from Valentino (one of my first bags from my hubby, then boyfriend, and I adore it!), and then they went nuts over my slightly see-through emerald green Furla Candy bag. Literally, one boy noticed and got the attention of all the other boys in the room ("Hey! Check this out!!"). Lol. They're all awesome kids. :)

Haha - you have awesome bag choices so that explains it. I can see how kids would especially be fascinated by emberal green see-through bag. If my teacher carried it to work, i'd probably have asked to carry it!

You remind me of my law tutor (I'm in college), she always brings in cute bags and when she brings in bright coloured stand-out bags even the boys love it.

Same! I see so many gorgeous designer bags on the street and I wish I had the guts to tell them how gorgeous their bag is! I've done it once at work - a patient had a Prada Saffiano Luxe tote and I said I loved her bag haha.
