Which handbag have you gotten the most compliments on?

I think the bags that get the most comments are due to the colour. I have some more casual bags from Hayden Harnett in a really rich blue and yellow and purple. People look at the colour. Oh and I had one woman in an elevator drool over my navy blue Francesco Biasia. She was like oooooh you can tell it's expensive lol..

usually the most compliments are for my "Owen" bag by Kooba. People usually like the color and the texture of the bag...can't blame them though, I love this one as well :)

Hee hee this bag looks like Patrick from Sponge Bob!

I'm sorry bagolicious. The title sounded familiar but your thread is better than mine! I started one on the LV subforum last July which I just bumped up. I think yours is better because it includes all bags and mine was limited to LV.

Not a problem.

It's been great to read that so many people get compliments on non, high-end designer types of bags. I have a very large and varied bag collection. Many friends would like to inherit my collection. I don't hang on to bags that I no longer use. I pass them on to either family members, friends, or colleagues so that they can enjoy the ones that I once enjoyed. Then they pass them on. Sort of like recycling. Smiles.

Yes, color does indeed get people's attention and especially here in L.A. My very vibrant, purple, Belen Escandia bag got so much attention until I would be tired at the end of the day, due to being constantly stopped, and having people ask whom it was by, wanting to feel it (fine with me), and talking about the gorgeous color. I just gave it away to a friend two months ago.

I didn't give my BE away because of the color, which I loved, but because it was just too big and heavy for every day use. The friend, whom I gave it to, loved the bag and needed that size. I had the bag custom made. I plan to have another BE bag made and possibly in the same color, just way smaller.

My overall observation: Unique bags get the most compliments. Designer bags get the most stares along with silence (makes you wonder what they're thinking like (1) how much did it cost, (2) how did she afford that, (3) wait is it real or fake?)QUOTE]

where I live almost EVERYONE have at least one designer bag, Birkin and Kelly (authentic off course) sighing are not rare, especially if there are Asian :p
I always bump into premium designer handbags when I go grocery, so question will be (3) wait is it real or fake?)

Echandia, not Escandia. LOL! Living and working in L.A., I tend to spell some Hispanic last names the way that I see them spelled here.

Here, too. And Asian friends of mine seem to have lots of designer bags.

I get the most compliments on an older Chanel quilted bag that is very, very faded. The original color was a bright royal blue, and it's still visible under the flap. But the rest of the exterior looks sort of like a light denim!

I did a search on the forum on compliments and I mostly found threads about people getting insulted about the bags they carry, mostly in the realm of them being expensive. There were very little threads about compliment stories! There must be some out there - friends, family strangers who said nice things about your bag(s), you telling people how much you love their bag(s)?

Recently, I went to a friend's party and I left my Chloe Paraty on the couch. Someone wanted to sit down and picked the bag up, and a girl saw the bag from across the room, darted over and asked me out loud, "IS THAT A CHLOE?" As soon as she said this, 5 girls came by and surrounded my bag. I even let them wear it to try it on (cuz they're my friends).

My Bals get stares from afar, but no one has walked up to me to compliment me, except at another party when a girl came up to me and asked me if it was a Balenciaga (this is the mini city). When I said yes, she asked me if she can see it and I said okay and we started talking about buying handbags in paris and prices. Not really a compliment, but I love it when my bags become a conversation starter!

Any good stories?
