Which brand have you moved on from and why?

For many of us this comes off as irritated if not angry........sorry but just the way you worded it. This is merely everyone's opinion on brands that they no longer like or want to buy. Obviously bags will change depending on one's region.
We all see what we see, you know? I never got the impression that people were trying to change your mind as to what you actually see, just sharing their viewpoint.
The only vantage point we can come from is our own. I think we can all respect that.
exactly what I was going to say - "Let's get a few things clear" comes off as angry......seems to be a lot of that type of thing going on lately....we all have our opinions but some people seems to get ticked off when someone disagrees with them

Botkier - I'd sooner purchase a preloved Trigger than any of the bags they'e making now. The leather seems cheap to me. I guess they decided to lower the prices and the quality.

I've been some Botkier bags at places like Last Call and Off The Rack and not once have I been tempted to buy one. They looked cheaply made and the designs were uninspired. I didn't even realize they were an affordable luxury brand.

I have several Kate Spade bags but have not bought any new ones a long time. The last one I bought I ended up returning the day after because it wasn't practical for me. I still like some of them and I have no issues with the quality, I just find myself in a different place as far as style right now. More edgy, less cutesy. That said, I won't say I've moved on, just that the right bag hasn't come along in a while.

No particular brand because I don't have that much of a drive to look at anything outside of Coach (I'm in the minority there, I like the designs) but I am considering no more cloth or canvas SLGs. They fray easily and I don't believe that just because I've spent money canvas or cloth in ten years will not show worn edges or fuzzy fibers.

I do prefer leather, as I think it's the aging looks much better.

Again, in the minority here, but I don't mind certain siggy bags from Coach or Gucci but that canvas or cloth won't look better with age, especially anything that's holding keys, so I'm avoiding it, even though I find them quite sweet when they're brand new.

I feel you! I have a strict "nothing but leather" policy with myself lol. I do have coated canvas pieces from LV and Goyard so I count those but fabric signatures from Gucci and Coach are no-no for me. I LOVE coach's leather, I only have one Coach siggy which I absolutely love and take care of, but the rest of my Coach items are leather.

agree...the ones you see today look pretty junky but the old Triggers were very nice and I have an older Jackie - wasn't as popular as Trigger but it's made out of nice soft lambskin, not the crappy leather they're using now

I agree about brands such as Botkier and Linea Pelle as well. The leathers just aren't up to par as they were a few years ago. Luckily there is still the pre-loved market where you can find some very nice bags still. I'd much rather go that route than take a chance on a new one.

+1! He seems to only like people that have Birkins. He is NOT bougie...at all.

I will be honest...I'm not a fan of MK but what he did was absolutely terrible. While watching the video I couldn't help but think about the poor SA that sold him the bags thinking they made amazing commission and built a relationship with a new customer. And what if the SA actually watched that video. What he did was WRONG in every way.

Sorry! Back to topic!

Brands I've moved on from:

Louis Vuitton: After getting the Petite Malle nothing really seems to appeal to me anymore except the Ready-To-Wear by Nicolas Ghesquiere, but I can't afford that AND I'm not a woman so...lol.

Goyard: I'm not gonna sugarcoat this...the canvas just sucks. Terrible canvas. I've had bad experience with all my Goyard items.

Dior: Only since Raf Simons left. I loved his work at Dior and was sad to see him go. But now Maria Grazia Chiuri from Valentino is taking the reigns and I'm super excited!!

Hermes: I'm too young for their simple designs. I feel like Hermes bags always look so "forced" on me. I just like things that are young, colorful, and fun! But I will say their leather and craftsmanship is quite amazing. The bags will unfortunately never suit me. I've accepted that and moved on from the brand. I will only admire from afar.

Coach: I LOVE the older/vintage Coach bags. My moms older coach bags always put a HUGE smile on my face. The newer designs from them don't do that to me anymore, but I do like the new Dinky crossbody!

I have two new Dinky crossbodies and LOVE them! [emoji3]

There isn't any particular brand I have moved away from. It is more of a matter of what appeals to me at that time and works for my lifestyle. Certain brands I will admire on others, but never purchase for myself. Again it is all subject to change at any given moment. [emoji14]

Hmmmmm....... I feel like what I've learned most is to keep an open mind! I've been brand loyal and brand "no way Jose", changed my opinions to the point where former loyalties became no ways and vice versa and back again.

The only brand I've sold off in its entirety that doesn't catch my eye much these days is Prada. But I do always think that if I were going to invest in a branded backpack that the Prada ones can take a beating and still look nice. So never say never!

Coach is one I've gone there and back. I have a small green leather crossbody that used to belong to my mom in the 90s and it is fabulous, I wear it regularly. I love to shop vintage and there are lots of awesome Coach leather bags out there. The newer stuff doesn't quite catch my eye these days but 10 years ago I used to loooove scouting the Coach outlets for hidden treasures.

Agreed on Marc Jacobs moving on from me. I'm an anti-clutter person who is constantly fighting the size of my closet & can't believe I finally sold my Stella (first designer purchase in life!!!) but I had other bags in the same color family and totes that I used more. I'll always remember you well, old friend...

But I suppose that lends itself to my point - I know that my personal style is going to evolve throughout my lifetime. What suits me today probably won't 10 years from now, same as what worked 10 years ago is not where I am today. And that's okay!
