I used to like Etienne Aigner and Tignanello bags however they have cheapened them with non-leather trim and flimsy linings. I ignore them in the department stores.

Coach used to make really wonderful bags--the glove tanned leather their old bags were made from was so thick and sturdy and wore so well. It's a shame that the quality has declined so much. I second the previous posters who noted Cole Haan's decline. They used to make fantastic shoes. No longer.
I have many Coach bags, all leather, some glove tanned leather.... beautiful and wear great! I've had no issues with quality. At all. Stuart Fevers has done band is continuing to design gorgeous items.
Michael Kors and Coach. They were gateway handbag brands for me.

Oroton - price increases, poor quality control, moving from Australian made to China and no longer investing signature lines
Prada - as soon as I was buying into the brand the new designs and price increases turned me off

I've luckily found a lovely Coach Gramercy (medium size) and also the mini size. I can happily say that the quality...being that they are relatively newer bags from Coach, is quite beautiful.
Like any line out there, you may find some of the bags of questionable quality and others that are absolutely exquisite.

I agree and I'm happy you like looking at Coach again!
It's weird for me to say since it was such a fast-onset burning-hot affair, but I've moved on from Balenciaga. Simply because I just have all I need from them and don't feel the need to keep adding that particular style/vibe.
