Where's Your Bag in the car/when you're driving?

My doors lock when i put my car in drive, therefore no one can open them.
If I'm driving alone, my purse sits in the passenger seat. If I'm driving with Hubby, or a close friend, it goes in their lap....they're all sports about it. If I'm driving with people not so close as to hold my purse I just keep it in my lap.

Too afraid to do the between me and the door thing...what happens if the door randomly just opens as you're driving....eek!

Okay, I have to chime in here albeit a little late - I keep my bag on the front passenger seat BUT I throw a sun guard (the one I use for my windshield in hot weather) over it for 2 reasons: The first to keep the leather from fading (that sun can literally ruin your bag) and second, it is not readily viisible to would be bag snatching thieves.

It's so funny that you posted this question. As I was driving in my car this weekend, I was thinking about posting the very same thing!!

When I'm by myself, I put my bag on the passenger seat next to me. If someone's sitting there, or if my hubbie's driving & I'm in the passenger seat, I usually put it on the armrest/console in the center between the two front seats. When I'm using a large bag, however, that can be a problem, so if I'm the passenger I usually leave it on my lap.

I never EVER put my bags on the floor!!

i normally drive aloneand leave it on the front seat and my bf alwatyas makes sure i get intop the habit of locking my doors as soon as i hop in the car ....other wise either it goes on my passengers lap (paddy's not riding on the floor) or in between the two front seats in the gap.......last resort will be back seat.

For my bags they usually sit between the passenger and drivers seat, i have a jetta that doesn't have an arm reset in the middle just some cup holders and little nooks to put change and what not so it usually doesn't bother me there or I'll put it in the back seat sometimes if I'm in the passenger seat I'll have it in my lap or put it on my clean car mat :) <-- hence the word clean hahaha

If I'm driving alone, my Chanel goes in the front seat. My car's really roomy inside, so if someone's riding with me in the front seat, I either put my bag on the floor of the backseat or in on the side of the floor on the front passenger side.

i never put my bags on the floor i eitehr put it in the empty seat most of the time if theres someone tehre i put it in the bag seat and if its full i put it on the armrest beside me in the frongt =) never i the car floor or anyfloor i'm too lazy to vaccum my car floor lol

I know this sounds strange, but the police have said it's wise not to leave it on your front seat. Thieves have been known to smash windows at red lights just to grab your bag. It's happened here in Atlanta.

It doesn't sound strange at all, at least not here in L.A.!! Police do say you should never put your bag on the passenger seat because it's too tempting for those "smash and grab" robbers.

Even though it's wrong, my purse still rides shotgun. If I have a front passenger, I put it behind the passenger seat so I can reach it from the driver's seat.

I don't have a car now since I moved back to Taiwan, but when I lived in Los Angeles, I'd put my bag either in the passenger seat (covered with a sweater), or put it in between the drivers seat and the "wall" behind it. (I had a 2-seater convertible, so the space behind the seats was clean since there was no room for passengers.)

Like everyone else, I usually ride alone, so I normally put my bag in the passenger seat. However, if someone is riding with me, I will put my bag on the floor behind the passenger seat. I hardly EVER have more than one person riding with me, so I know that area is super clean, the bag tends to move around less than on the actual seat, and it's easier to reach behind the passenger seat than the driver's seat. Also, I think putting it on the back floor hides the bag a little more, so it's probably safer as well (I hope!).
