Hey sweety, thanks for your advice. I guess i may have to stick to a more realistic choice, guess SO it's just fat hope....lol:smile1:

Hi Celia fish, do you still need info about H in Sydney?

SA in H Sydney told me that they didn't take SO or PO, instead we can place request (this is what they call it there apparently). So I place request for Kelly 32 Chevre CDC. She said it may take 6 months to 2 years. No deposit required, and they will call you once the bag arrive and you have 48 hours to pick it up. She was quite accomodating, because she reminded me that if I want to change my mind in regards to the leather or anything, to let her know. Service was good there. SAs were friendly. Hope this help.

Yup that will be wonderful...can u advise me the info if that is not too troublesome...:))):smile1:

If you want one now and don't mind paying more than the price in other countries then I suggest you take a trip to Tokyo and get it there. I got my first Birkin there today (my friend picked it up for me). The Birkin 30 is JPY1,050,000 including the 5% tax.

I've tried the Australian stores and none of them have any in stock. They said the waitlist is 6 months to 3 years long. They were accommodating though and said they can put my name down on the list...

I've also gone into the store in Singapore and the SA just said that the waiting list is 3 years. Did not bother asking me if I wanted to be put on the waitlist. Must have just assumed I can't afford one.

the list in Singapore is so long, I don't even think the list is open. It's not about affordability, not really.

Like what Jadeite said, it's not about the affordability. It's just a nice way of telling a customer "No". You can't walk in and buy a birkin here. It's better to get from a reseller (after getting the bag authenticated) or from overseas; another way is to build a relationship with the store here in which you should be able to get your birkin within 2 years.

yes .. but this isn't limited to SG .. @ SH/Plaza 66, the wait is the 5yrs! In TW/SOGO, the wait is 7 years .. and they know we own several H bags in lizzies, birdies and crocs collectively .. TW/Regent is 3.5 yrs and the newest opening in Oct '09 is TW/Bellavista .. since they are trying to accumulate their own client list .. they are offering on the hush hush 1.5 - 2 yr wait to a local shopper(also a tpfer) .. I might add all 3 TW stores are franchise stores .. so it's their rules^ .. and priced similar to a reseller;)

You could call the Mexico City store and order one for the shelf and have it sent to you. Delivery may be high and Mexico does not refund the VAT, unlike Canada in NAFTA.
In any case, I was in the Mexico City store on Marsayak street a few years ago and there were 10 Birkins on the shelf. The Directrice told me that Birkins dont sell well in MC.

Do you need to go there in person to place an order? or over the phone is fine?

When I went to gold coast Australia on first week of April they had 3 birkins available. 40 Togo bj phw, 30 etoupe ghw n 35 orange ghw(which came home w me). They were pretty well stocked too w kellys, kp croc, Kelly shoulder, constace etc. Try calling them and see what they have now. Good luck n keep us posted.

Hi ladies,
I just read this thread - I have been wanting to get a Birkin (in black, with gold hardwares in Togo) but wasn't sure how I could get it. I live in US now but moving to Tokyo in the summer and I know Tokyo is the shopping heaven! Also it's more expensive there. So here is my option. Should I try to get the bag here in the US, Tokyo or Paris (I am planning on a trip there in the fall)?
The bag is so classic, it'll be worth every penny!
The advantage in Japan is that my mother has been working in fashion industry for many years and has a few connections.
I also read in this thread that they have a few in Mexico?
Thanks!!
