Ahh! You're following me! Just moved to LA from the UWS and can fully agree with everything you say above. Loved that TJs at "Columbus Square."
Don't waste your time coming to a TJ Maxx in Kentucky. Rue 21 has better clothes than our TJ's. (And not saying anything bad about Rue 21!! Just sayin')
Glad to see there's a former NYer out there!! I moved in Oct right before the Columbus Square one opened. Probrably for the best considering I used to work at the Hearst Tower right across the street. That would have been torture for me at work ha!
Don't worry though there's plenty of great places to shop here as well!! Have you tried South Coast Plaza. It's the absolute Mecca!!

Colombus square is hit or miss. The runway selection is only a few racks and always getting smaller. Haven't seen designer shoes\bags there since they opened. I have gotten some cheap Joe's Jeans and Juicy sweats, and agree that the jewelry selection is good.

Oh yes you're right. Columbus was the one I loved!! Are you in LA now?? The one in Glendale is really great. A really nice Runway selection.
I. love. South Coast Plaza. Haha you know me too well. LA is great so far! Still yearning for the energy of New York (like walking around and seeing faces) but then I come back to my apartment without roommates and realize life is good. Commute to work however: Sucky.
And don't get me started on Desert Hills. Woodbury has nothing on it.
No, I'm a Manhattan native who doesn't drive, so I only hit up L.A. shopping on business trips. The Greater L.A. buses have improved quite a bit in the last 15 years!

Oh gotcha. What's your fave LA shopping spot? Have you been to South Coast Plaza? It's my fave in the Socal area! I really miss NYC shopping.
Hahaha SCP is my fave too!!! And Ditto on Desert Hills, there's also a closer one-Camarillo that has all the biggies too like Dior and Gucci and Prada. OMG I have like the biggest grin just typing this!!!

I am a devoted TJ Maxx/Marshalls shopper - yes, you need a ton of Patience but the good finds are worth it IMO -- I'm lucky to have about 8 stores within a 30-45 minute radius --
Over the years Ive seen Helmut Lang, Lavin, Christian Dior, prada, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, BvlgariVera Wang, Versace, Lanvin, etc.-- tons of Estee Lauder and Shiseido skincare products.. a biniki from Diane Von Furstenberg for $60 bucks.....Ferragamo sunglasses for $40, my T3 hair dryer for $40....the list goes on and on

I am planning a trip to California and I was looking for an outlet mall with the bigger stores (gucci, dior etc.) and the only one i found was Desert Hills.
As much as I would love to go to desert hills it's a little out of the way but Camarillo is on the way and so is SCP. I looked up camarillo but they didn't list any big stores?
Can you confirm the bigger stores? I would love you forever!! hahahah
