My latest UO - it’s not a luxury experience when you have to pay shipping fees especially if you’ve spent over 2000. I mean really? Couldn’t figure out how to cut the budget any other way but instead nickel and dime clients?
UO: some types of clients get preferential treatment BC of what they purchase not how much? DH doesn’t pay for delivery of home items (glassware or MtM tailored items (I just happened to notice this one day), but I’ve been charged delivery for RTW. So, I don’t know if there is a rhyme or reason. Or maybe they think guys are more likely to balk at delivery charges (which UO is probably true) IDK

UO: I hate their garment bags and the orange boxes and bags , and I think I could just about tolerate shipping or delivery charges if they could just use better hangers . Their hangers are the worst.

I don’t understand the infatuation with Michael Coste and having to snap a picture with him. He must be sick of the photo ops day in and day out.
He loves it. Once I talked to him for half an hour, of course he is very much into celebrities and socialites. I do freelance work in entertainment, and he almost passed out when he learnt one of the people I do work for was in Paris those days. The people I do work for would never do the “pick a bag and take photo at FSH,” they would rather get it on resale, but in general H is not their thing. He mentioned he was coming to the US and asked about places that were on his list, and told me his socialite friends knew everything and would take him to those places.

Fast forward a few months, I am a member of a few private clubs, and I see him twice on a weekend. 😅

No, I didn’t ask for a photo and I would never. 😅I see celebrities on a weekly basis and I barely have photos with them, even when doing work in the field. It is just not my thing. My UO is taking photos with celebrities/socialites/politicians, it is not for me.

LOL, I think that's actually his job! He's like the PR person for H, and I even asked Hermes management in NYC what his exact role was because we were chatting about Paris and him and his Instagram. I was told since regular Hermes employees are not allowed to socialize with clients, he's the guy whose job it is to do all the socializing and schmoozing with clients/VIPs/celebrities. And I guess because of that, and all his IG posts with celebrities from all over the world, he has become an Hermes celebrity himself! So when people see him at the store, they want to take a picture with him, and he's more than happy to do it! It's his job to be charming and chat with customers, celebrity or not, and schmooz. My store director told me a funny story that one of her clients saw him at FSH and asked the guy standing next to him if he would mind taking a photo of them, and the guy obliged... what she didn't realize what that guy was Axel Dumas!!!! 😂 Apparently Axel got a kick out of it too!

I understand that a person can be smitten by many celebrities because a lot are very knowledgeable, cultured, are amazing at their craft and sometimes even put their lives at risk to entertain people, but I truly can’t understand a person being smitten by socialites, some influencers etc. I know it works for H to have him there, but I just find it shallow. My UO. 😅I think they could use him better to teach about heritage, craft, France, Paris, whatever it is, not this “snapping photos” with most times “we don’t who is that” socialite.

Can't agree more!!!

This topic is interesting. I hope not to offend anyone but here is a few opinion of mine:

1) Hanging a Labubu on your H bag
2) Feeling so grateful to your SA as if they raise you for granting a quota bag (even if it may not be your desire color) even though you're spending lots of money to be offered one.
3) Dealing with different H rules by store or region. Tired of being told one thing at this store and a different one at another store. I wish H has universal rules and if those exists, make sure that all SAs are trained the same way.

This has been going on for some time. I don’t know that you can completely blame the pre spend but the many clients who buy pre-spend items purely to get a bag. We’ve seen these multiple clients in Facebook groups resell huge numbers of their prepend items. It has slowed a little since last year. I recommend going to a corporate reseller like fashionphile or real real. Jewelry resale has been really hot and items have been been selling quickly. Things I’ve been watching don’t even make it to discount. My guess is people are tired of bag prices which have gone up far too much. So this is to say you might at least get an offer from a corporate reseller.

My unpopular opinion is H needs to expand their cutlery choices. Exactly how are you supposed to hold a fork or spoon when there’s a big hole at the end?
You're so right about going to a reputable reseller. Even the markup may seem high, people ofter forget the other prespend they've plunged hoping to be offered a QB. For the same total outlay, one can get the exact specs of the QB and not have to peg.
