What’s your unpopular Hermes opinion?

But that's not ALL they're doing. Visiting a store may take minutes out of a day so it's not like people aren't doing other things. I generally go to Paris twice a year for the last 10 years and always visit FSH multiple times on a weeklong visit just to browse. It doesn't mean I'm not enjoying all that Paris has to offer.
Eh based on videos that’s almost all they seem to be doing. They’re not just going to fsh. They’re spending what seems like all their time visiting every single Hermes store in Paris. One lady I saw on YouTube got a qb offer at one store and then had the gall to visit another asking for another qb. Initially they told her she couldn’t have one and then later they changed their mind it seems and gave her a bag. But it’s hard to know what’s truth with a lot of these flexer type influencers.

The last time that I did not gross myself out in the mirror doing that was almost two decades ago. My sister and I used to like to wear it that way when we were young and skinny. No more.

So guess what? I tried a CSGM. I was so traumatized by it.

My UO: We should start a thread on H RTW and scarf epic failure attempts. ;)
I could participate in that thread.
I have wasted soooo much time watching IG videos on how to tie scarves and it never ends up looking like what it's supposed to.

People should post what it should look like vs how it actually turned out. LLOL.

My mother on the other hand wears her scarves so well. That gift must have skipped a generation.

Saw this at the Ginza store. Anyways i think the effort and premium is not worth it for the shoulder birkin. Most of what you’ll be paying for is the flap which lets be real, dont really serve much purpose lol coz who closes their birkins using the flap?. Might as well get a full sized birkin at least it’ll fit more than a folding umbrella lol

Btw i saw the mini herbag (crossbody) in person and that one i can definitely rock. It has a zipped pocket at the back like the regular sized herbag. Perfect for metro card and hotel key cards for quick access. Have to ask my SA to put me on a list.

The disproportionate handles are a big no for me. It looks so odd. My first reaction was that the handles remind me of Wile Coyote or cartoon rabbit ears.

3. But, a scarf as a top is not as hard to pull off as a scarf wrapped around one’s head, covering one’s hair, like an old time grand mother lol

IMO
THIS! I see it on the H website and it looks so good. I’ve only seen it looking good irl once and I almost stopped the woman on the street to ask for a tutorial. I really want to be the woman who can pull this off.

A number of years ago there was a great SA (NYC) who really mastered the art of how to tie a scarf/shawl
to either wear as an underpinning or over a jacket/coat. She shared her tips with me as to how
I could tie the shawl in the way I wanted.
If you have the inclination & are close to an H store & have a nice relationship with your SA,
why not just ask her to show you.
Believe it or not they enjoy sharing that & you'll know how to do it.. Worth a try! JMO

I love this bag! Maybe that's the unpopular opinion 😂

Over a jacket? How interesting, will look into it! Do you have any photos?

To stay on topic: H should really make more of an effort regarding RTW. There’s only one jacket they’ve made that’s absolutely struck me, and my local store didn’t even order it.

H RTW is always hit or miss from one collection to another. When I see a piece especially a top
or jacket & if I like the other colorways usually will make the purchase, JMO

UO: I don’t understand the snobbery and turning-up-of-the-nose at Epsom leather as if it’s inferior to other leathers.

Epsom is sturdy, helping prevent bag structure from diminishing over time, and Hermes colors look especially rich, beautiful and vibrant (really pop!) on Epsom leather … moreso than on some other leathers like Togo, which many people say is superior to Epsom despite color looking duller on Togo and structure relaxing more on Togo over time … not to mention that Epsom is in no way inexpensive in terms of price!

I love my Epsom, Togo and other Hermes leather bags and think people can take pride in having all types of Hermes leathers—very much including Epsom—in their collection.

I am with you! I love multiple types of Hermes leathers as well! And I was actually just thinking the same thing about my Epsom bags. I love that they are so sturdy and I can wear them fuss free. Like traveling, or when the weather is bad. Or gosh, just last night when my bag fell off my chair onto the floor at the restaurant, I thought “thank god I brought the Epsom one!”

Eek! I’m so relieved for you that of all the bags that could have fallen, it was a durable Epsom one! I hope it didn’t get any boo-boos.

I can be quite clumsy and am always relieved that when I bump my Epsom bags against something, drop them or get them wet & wipe them off, the leather never shows signs of wear (so far—*touch wood*). Epsom gives me piece of mind and a sense that I can truly use my bags in regular daily life and they can stand the test of time (and hopefully be handed down to a child/grandchild one day, still in excellent condition).

I’m also such a sucker for the brightness of color on Epsom 😊

I admit that I secretly like Epsom the least amongst the leathers I own, which are Togo, Clemence, box, barenia, chèvre mysore and swift. However, I agree with all your points and I now feel I should appreciate my Epsom k25 a bit more.
