Good observation about the pajamas. I dont understand how that is fashion. Thankfully i havent seen matching Hermes silk pajamas worn on social media.

The whole "pajamas as clothes" thing is ridiculous and totally misses the fun of actually buying and wearing fun pajamas and fun clothes!
I would have bought pajamas at FSH (Sept 22) in a heartbeat if they could have shortened them without ruining the pattern

unpopular opinion : I think the pajamas are far more gorgeous than the twillanes or caftans

Oh gosh these are gorgeous (to wear as Pyjamas..not outside the house I mean) but not only would I have the same problem as you regarding the length I think my DH would think I'd lost the plot purchasing Hermes nightwear.
Unpopular opinion to stay OT why cant a luxury house Like Hermes offer trousers or dresses etc with a border patten in two different lengths? (tall and...less tall)

Were H truly still about bespoke luxury you would be able to order them and receive them in this lifetime; cf. @880’s stemware. Maybe that just can’t be done at H’s current level of overall production.

This, in my unpopular view, is why the restrictions on what can be ordered through the SO process are so frustrating, and the process so revealing. You’re invited to order a bespoke bag, but not really. H is often lovely and always expensive, but it’s losing a bit of its luxury cred. IMO.

Another Unpopular opinion echoing @textilegirl's comment above.
Although I know I would never be in the running for a SO I do feel somewhat underwhelmed by the options offered to those who do get a SO offer these days.
In my mind a special order should allow one much more choice of leathers, sizes, colours and stitching.
A SO these days doesn't seem truly special or unique with so many limitations

It's definitely changed a lot and become much more restricted now.

Bc all of those celeb’s followers will run to Hermes. . . And buy lip gloss, thereby making H shareholders very happy lol

unpopular opinion: I don’t have much use for anything on the first floor (runs away quickly)

ETA: the importance of make up in the H world is enormous. While in Scandinavia, if I recall correctly, H Stockholm carries no RTW but H Oslo, a smaller store did. When I inquired, i was told that the powers that be chose stockholm to carry make up. And the implication was it was a much more profitable store.
I remember you pointing out that H makeup is CONSOLATION MERCHANDISE. So true. I have your quote on a sticky along with my H wishlist LOL

I would love to check out the make-up in a dept store, however, I fully realize that it probably is no better than Chanel or another quality brand. The company knows that perfume and make-up are cash cows and if they can get a buyer to later graduate into buying a scarf, they are happy. They aren't interested in using makeup to attract people to buy bag. They really don't need that. So perhaps my unpopular Hermes opinion regarding this, is that the company has stooped to the level of any other brand that used makeup to attract $$$. A certain degree of exclusivity has been lost IMO as they are mass marketing.
Yes, the minute they announced the makeup line my heart sank. I just thought "sell-out."

Oh perhaps then this opinion is suitable for this thread: I adore the make- up line. (H fragrances have been around for many years anyway) I get a lot of pleasure from using a tinted lipstick like rose d’été. The packaging is sleek, makes a satisfying click and they also sell refills for that ‘green’ touch. I don’t generally buy much in terms of make up anyway so it’s perfect for people like me. Great for presents and stocking fillers. Are they overpriced? Probably. I agree with the poster who said they can be consolation merchandise, but I rather like them on their own merit.

Or just not giant? Oh my gosh, I giggled at that photo of the adorable @880. But really. This is ridiculous.

I'm with you on this one. I bought one of the LE lipsticks mainly for the case initially as my excursions are few and far between and rarely require make up these days, but the shade wound up being perfect for those times when my face could use some color.

Also, as far as them being consolation merchandise, I kind of view this as a benefit. This year will be my first time gifting H to anyone besides DH because of the beauty line. My friends and family don't know I shop at H, but these are sold at department stores next to Christian Dior and Tom Ford, so won't register as out of the ordinary.

On the subject of make up, it's probably just me, but I'm slightly disturbed by the release of mascara in green and blue shades. I'm sure these are dark and therefore fairly subtle, but I survived the 1980s electric blue mascara (what was I thinking?!!) so they sent a shiver down my spine! What's next? Mind you I also did wet look gel in a crunchy perm...
