Something along the same vein … I find that some clients are way too precious with shoes.

My SAs showed me a pair of Orans and pointed out some small marks on the sole from (presumably) being tried on by someone else. He said it’s totally fine if I want to order a “fresh” pair instead because some of his clients won’t want it. I couldn’t care less. They’re going to get scratched the minute I take my first step anyway

I understand being picky about certain things, but shoes that are supposed to go on dirty floors … I just don’t get it.

I think it's different if buying for someone else, but for myself I don't mind a few marks on the soles. I wouldn't want too many creases on the uppers though because different people leave impressions in different places.

Carrying on from the former post.
I cannot abide rose gold anything!
Hardware or fine jewellery I know its a personal thing but I do find it really cheap looking (Sorry!)
that said rose gold in vintage jewellery is quite lovely-I have an antique (art deco) rose gold ruby and diamond ring where the gold looks really warm/rich and rather lovely but I find newer rose gold even in high jewellery brands looks too 'pink' somehow.

Depends on the jeweller. One of the problems is clients that seem to like rg, seem to want it very pink. Gold is gold, get over it!

I wouldn't choose rg hw on an H bag. I have a Gucci bag (ltd. ed. 2006) I didn't notice until years later the hw was rg. My excuse is, it's against jade leather to the contrast is complementary.

It's a really good point about H jewellery. So much H jewellery is rose gold. So much so, I bought H gold earrings in rg - because I didn't know they came in yg and never thought to ask! Anyway, I still love them, but rg is not ideal for me because my skin is basically the palest rg . I need/want GOLD to stand out!

It really depends on what we're talking about. There's obviously some wear and tear that comes with being on the floor, but sometimes (never at H!), I've seen what looks like used merchandise being sold as brand new, and that's really not cool.

The Bolide looks like a cheap old lady bag. Sorry..not sorry.
I used to think of the bolide as an old lady’s bag or boring alma till I saw Christine Lagarde with one. I don’t mind being old lady chic. I am obsessed with my mini bolide and would love to add larger sizes maybe 25 or 31.

As for my unpopular opinion. I wish H would stop wasting time making bucket hats. Every time I see one I think of the lead singer in the new radicals or Fred durst of limp bizkit. It’s just nineties and out of fashion imo.

Bags inserts specially made and advertised for Hermes bags. Bags are meant to be used. I understand we all want to take good care of our bags but these bag inserts can take up up to 20% of bag space. Keys or objects with sharp edges or corners can be placed in a soft pouch. Bags lined in chèvre and swift are ok! Despite heavy regular usage the inside of my bags have not disintegrated. There may be some unavoidable scratches at the base but they are unnoticeable and quite easily smoothed away. I’ve even seen bag inserts for mini Kellys - with that insert in I don’t know what little meaningful use is left out of that tiny bag.
I nod in agreement as I wonder if I should remove my inserts. They ARE convenient for switching contents from bag to bag, but honestly these bags are heavy enough and holy hell some of those inserts are $$$! (and I'm guilty of owning more than one....)

lets hope we all get to be "old"er ladies :)

I'm must confess I'm getting ever more irritated by some posters obsession over spend vs bag offers.
It just seems really stupid to spend spend spend on 'stuff' when the only thing that seems to matter is getting the eventual bag offer not the joy of having all the 'stuff' they've purchased.
And the obsessive (it seems to me) adding up of spend on said 'stuff'.
I'm very anti resellers/flippers of new bags but really if all one wants is THE bag then go to a reseller.
And if one only wants to buy from the boutique for reasons of authenticity or the 'experience' of getting an offer in store then stop going on about how much you've spent for how long or 2x this or 4x that and just enjoy the 'stuff' you've purchased .

I'm on the same page as you in terms of shopping philosophy. However, one of the most popular threads here is "Spend threshold for B/K/C", so naturally people would want to discuss ... spend threshold?

I do place my travel size perfume and if I need a pen I put them in my pvc cosmetic pouch so any leaks would still be contained within the pouch.
