What’s your unpopular Hermes opinion?

My unpopular opinion is that I think micro and mini bags are not practical at all. Looks nice and cute perhaps but pretty useless when they cannot fit an iPhone max pro or a reasonably sized purse…… minimal room for lipstick+lipgloss+car keys etc…
In my unpopular opinion I’ll go further and say I think mini bags look um, silly - at least on me at 5’9” / 176.
And I wonder if it will be as dramatic when the pendulum swings to large bags.

I’ll go even further and say they look silly on pretty much everyone who isn’t nine or under. *ducks and runs*

Unpopular opinion then here...I adore petit h. The prices are friendlier than the non-recycled line, but what I like most is the unbridled creativity. Some of the items are gems - beautiful wraps, bags, home items - some are duds for sure - some are simply inexplicable, like the leather cupcakes, but people love them and they make people smile. And at least the little ribbon charms are free!
I live near the Sevres store and so I see cool workshops and displays all the time. Last year there was a small house in the window made entirely out of Monde d'Hermes magazines that someone had marked for disposal and shredded. The petit h team thought it was wasteful and they made this entire intricate house, at least three meters wide and long and as tall as the window.
It's also a pun btw, thus the small "h" in the name :)

I think that if someone is carrying a mini or micro bag & has another bag with her to put in her other stuff, that person is a fashion victim, since she purchases things because it is the "in" thing now..even if it doesn't really match her needs and lifestyle. That is my unpopular opinion.
Can wait to see all those influencers and influenced people with their mini K and mini Lindy when the trend will switch to Medium/Large bag size ....

I think the same as you, those mini sizes are silly and just a trend. Medium sizes like K28/B30/lindy26 ... will still hit no matter what trend is currently going on.

Fashion victim reporting for duty!

Thinking of starting a separate thread - “What’s in my H Bag 2023 edition” and curious to see how members load up their bags - ovestuffed mini’s or echo-ey maxi’s - or just right… I for one only carry 2 phones, wallet or card case, keys, lippy and a pair of sunnies…happy to hear that WHO has officially declared end to the pandemic - making face masks and sanitisers optional carry… but then again some folks might be “packing” a security device/weapon of sorts - unpopular opinion perhaps, or inconvenient truth for some… and then there’s lifestyle factors like babies’ nappies/toys/snacks, work laptop/tablets or travel passports/ chargers/toiletries/change of clothes… will start separate thread once I’ve taken pics of my own….

'Weapon' christ . I feel like I am on a different planet, sorry.
But I like your idea

Agree 100%. But is this a popular opinion or an unpopular opinion?

Also I saw two items recently that might be petite H that were very interesting

The petits chevaux cardholder was part of the main offering. Saw a few in our local stores last year. But there are petit H editions which have different animals instead of the horse, eg. a cut-out echidna or crocodile for Australia. And sometimes the leather cutout was croc or lizard.

I totally agree that there can be some real gems in the Petit H collection. They have some beautiful cashmere and chashmere/silk wraps that can be a steal! The cupcakes were adorable when they were ~100 as they could be used as a table display- why they shot up to >$700 US is beyond me! As @880 has pointed out they have had some stunning exotic bags that are truly "one of kind" pieces that very, very reasonably priced for H. I am currently eyeing this beautiful box/croc bag on the US site https://www.hermes.com/us/en/product/boxbag-H1704238v05/ which I think is a steal!

The exotic cardholders used to be a steal of a deal at under $500 and are still not bad when compared to the regular H offerings.

But I don't know who wants to pay a $1200 for a shuttle cock!
