What’s your unpopular Hermes opinion?

(possibly) unpopular opinion: if someone takes the time on tpf to offer a written (e.g. non-emoji) compliment about your picture/item, it is good form to acknowledge that, somehow, if even by an emoji.

There was a time on tpf when the emoji reaction option wasn't present. Yes, it added to much longer threads. Yes, it took more time to respond and sift. To me, that just makes actual narrative/written compliments all the more precious in the present day. Acknowledging the time/care/concern extended by a written compliment is a gracious gesture.
If people aren't responding to your posts it is no wonder they struggle with SA interactions! You are the most kindest poster that give the most thoughtful comments!

This thread is devoted to unpopular opinions about Hermes and/or their products.

It is quite likely that some members may find others' comments challenging, but please try not to take an unpopular opinion personally. The reason it may be unpopular is because most people will not agree.

Ignore, discuss but don't confront. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Guide between on/off topic:

Single comment = feedback.

2-3 quick fire quips = entertainment.

3,4 exchanges into the land of discussion on sizes, other brands, H-games, influencers, art of collecting etc, you are probably going
OT.

This thread has been considerably off topic, please stick to topic :tender:

These have been languishing on the Australian site for ever. What was H thinking?

They evidently weren't

I am neither an 'H' lover nor hater. When the 'H' is done cleverly like on the Oran etc it's part of the integral design aspect. Slapping HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH on something - not so much.

I'm sure if I wrote this before, but another is, why does every (recent) shoe have to have an 'H' on it (clever or not)?

One too many Hs can actually make an outfit really tricky to put together. I'm suddenly in H-ermes 'drag' instead of expressing myself. I'm sure some people can get away with H-ead-to-toe, but not me. I shouldn't have to limit my outfit to one H-item per look to make it wearable.

In a way it may be a reflection of current consumers/society. They want to be seen and recognized.

One too many Hs…. and someone else mentioned in another thread… “one to many sangles/turnlock” can be a bit much in one outfit (picture turnlock on K/B, shoes/boots, belt, bracelet, gloves, wallet) can make putting together an outfit a challenge (one reason why I take outfit photos to check and see that my “h” is more quite as you say…. lol)….. Chain D’Ancre motif is getting up there, too, and now seeing them on bags (in the loop), jewelry, belt, RTW, shoes…. so yeah, not logos per se, but noticeable design features…. same thing in my opinion

10000% agree with both. I've never been drawn to the big H, but the other telltale H signs are getting to be a bit much too. And don't get me started on the "Hermes Paris" plastered all over a sweater.

I agree. On the other hand, I can see when they get too minimal like the Row some people will think it’s just a black bag/shirt/pants like any other. Why am I paying throw the nose for this?

It’s a fine line to walk. To be distinctive but not too recognizable.
