What's with the "I hate MK" bandwagon?

I don't hate MK or his bags. I don't own any but that's because I don't like what's out there right now. I buy what I like, when someone starts paying for my bags I'll let them have an opinion...[emoji23]....until then remember....people like Goyard!!! [emoji32][emoji90][emoji107]

I call it collecting!

I have seen a few ladies showing disrespect for MK bags owners on different forums and I totally disapprove.
I don't understand the hate. We all love bags here and we should be happy when someone expresses their love for a bag they purchased, whether it's from MK or from Hermès.
Even prestigious brands "copy" their competitors.
Funny that no one complains...:shocked::shocked:
See, this is my point. Every designer had a "speedy" in their line but MK gets blasted for the Grayson. How can you pick one designer and go against them so hard when so many are making inspired bags??? Geez..

I find it interesting that MK is no longer carried at Nordstrom and other retailers are phasing them out. I do love handbags and look for something special or unique about a brand to love it. I don't find anything special or unique about the MK line. But if you do, than who's to say you shouldn't wear it and love it?

I think it's because luxury bags are now becoming for accessible. You used to have to call to get most really expensive brands or go in a boutique from my understanding but now with all the sites that sell them second hand, and in great condition , no one buys them new anymore. But I think most handbags aren't really special. It's just the price and wealth status tbh.

There's nothing special or unique about LV or Gucci either. Only their price point.

I think Nordies is phasing the logo bags out because they price match and Macy's always has them for 50 off plus a coupon.
The Nordies in my area are both in the same mall as a MK boutique so it's probably too much competition.

Agreed!!!

I respectfully disagree about this point! LV and Gucci have a long history of superior craftsmanship and iconic styles. I'm personally not a fan of MK because I don't like the designer himself. I also would like to add that "inspired by" bags are rampant across the board. Many high-end brands release similar styles all the time. I get that, but MK takes it to another level. To me, it seems like nearly ever bag that is released from MK is an imitation of a popular style from another designer. I also think that the bags are overpriced for their lack of originality, materials used, and the labor costs for the country of origin. MK does not have my respect because I see no vision or aesthetic for his brand. There are no MK iconic bags for a reason. All of this being said, I respect if people disagree with me. And I don't hate people that love MK, but I think that I am allowed to express my personal preferences. I will agree with you, though, that a lot of posters jump on the bandwagon to hate on specific brands (bag snobbery if you will). But I feel like people do have a right to dislike or even hate a brand just as you have the right to love that brand. Personal attacks on individuals should not be in the equation. This is TPF after all. Naturally, there will be some healthy disagreement over designers. :smile:

I had 3 Grayson satchels over the years and I found them better than a Speedy for 2 reasons:
The handles were flat and adjustable and the zipper went completely across and 3 inches down one side for easier access.

Yeah I think this is the real reason. Nordstrom doesn't want to have to price match when Macy's is giving them away at half price. They wouldn't dare be known as a discount store ....

Yep! I have 2 myself and a DB Carly Olivia and like them more than my speedy for those reasons as well as the strap on the DB that was FREE. See, LV has you paying extra $300 for a STRAP. Sorry but...bye.
