My Chloe Tekla.

GORGEOUS leather, soft and buttery. I LOVED it. And as a present from DH, I loved it even more! But the side handles for this big messeger were stitched directly to that same, soft leather... so you guessed it... despite easy use, the handles tore right out of the bag while I was out with family. I was crushed! They let me return it, but DH felt terrible.

Funny, I have stopped buying IT bags after that and spend my $ on long wearing, STURDY bags now lol

I also had an unfortunate Tano experience - as widely noted and discussed in the thread I started about it. I bought the Fonzworth Tote in Red from Luna Boston and it literally had the color of dried blood. The handle was splitting, the leather was dry and rubbed looking, the color was splotchy, and it was covered in marks and scratches. It was seriously beat up, I am sure I had gotten an old customer return or overworked display. It was my first serious purchase and I spent a long time deciding what to get. I was SO excited to get it and when it turned out to be so crummy I cried. Like literally sitting in my dining room looking at the bag and crying.

I sent it back and it took 2 weeks to get my refund!

Then I spent that refund money on a HH Mercer Satchel that is so divided not one of the pockets is big enough to hold any of my stuff...now thats sitting in my office waiting to be listed on ebay.

Is LB bad normally bad with returns? Yikes.

I have two:

Mulberry Emmy Bag. I obsessed over this bag and when I got it my husband said, "Where's your Doggy." The thing was so big it looked like a dog carrier. It also had a zipper and over the zipper was a buckle and...on each side of the buckle were to turnlocks!!! :cursing: It was such a pain to get into, but the worst thing about it is it didn't smell like wonderful new leather smell, it smelled like a wet lamb. It went back in two days.

The second is my MJ Stam. Loved the style and color, but there was only one pocket and I felt like I was constantly searching for things and it was soooo heavy.

Here's the Mulberry:

my TANO TRIANGLE bag. love the shape. but the interior was dark so you couldn't find anything.

also i love that tano leather is not heavy, but i don't think it actually holds up that well.

No more Tano pour moi

For me it was the metallic Gustto Setela bag. The metallic comes off with wear. Totally not worth the $700 price tag. But I can't return because it has been way too long. Lesson learned--no more "mid range" bags for me. I'm sticking to brands with higher quality standards like Chanel and Bottega Veneta.

I'm glad to see this thread revived! It really helps to see if the reasons for disappointment are more personal because of the style, or quality in workmanship. Very informative for future buying excursions.

My disappointment was the Tano Magic Hairdo bag in port that I got from Luna Boston. I had read so much about Tano bags, and I liked the style and color. When I got the bag, though, the leather was dry and unpleasant to touch, the hardware uninspired, and there were these wrap pieces of leather on the handles that slid loosely up and down in ways I found annoying. They cheapened the whole bag. It didn't help that I got a wonderful soft, buttery, great hardware clutch purse by another designer in the same order. I returned the Tano without any problem and got my money back.
