What's the most disappointing bag you've ever bought?

I might get killed for saying this, but I consider the Louis Vuitton Speedy 25 to be my worst handbag purchase of all time. I remember buying it at the boutique, and it was flattened like a pancake. In that moment, I knew I was wasting a lot of money, but I just couldn't admit it to myself - I'd driven 2 hours to buy it, & I was going to buy it.

Anyway, people were constantly asking me if it was real, which was annoying, and made me feel like it looked fake. Also, I HATED the way it sagged in the middle, like a deflated balloon. I used to put random things in there just to give it shape, lol. Thankfully I was able to sell it on Ebay, and LV's prices had gone up so much that I was able to get almost all my money back. So there it is: Speedy 25, never again.

There are so many fake monogram Louis Vuitton`s around they no longer appeal to me either people always assume you`re carrying a fake. The only one I`d carry would be a mon mono.

The most expensive is my most disappointing its a prada tote bn2655 in black because it's open my things aren't secure also my job is more casual now. Also when ever I pop to the supermarket after work I lock it in the boot which I also do with my Bayswater whereas with my Marc Jacobs and bays satchel I take them in with me !!!

As of now, most disappointing for me has been Rebecca Minkoffs that have absolutely fallen apart. I know they are very popular, but I have been disappointed in quality.
I agree that the quality of Rebecca Minkoff bags is really poor. I ordered one, and the zipper fell off right after I took it out of the box!! I would've returned it, but I was able to find the pin & zipper pull, & put it back together. Unfortunately, the zipper still falls off every time I put it back in its dust bag. Right now it's being held on with scotch tape, lol. I figure I'll just superglue the pin in, but still, if I'm paying over $100 for a bag, I shouldn't have to superglue anything!! Her bags are really cute, but I won't be buying any new ones.

blue Ferragamo marisa-started to develop a few discoloration marks, and then read that those colors turn yellow. Sold the marisa and recuperated 50% of the cost, otherwise their bags are great!

Marni balloon XL-love big totes, but that one was just too large. It does lie flat, but somehow the width and length of the bag still stands out. Had to take a while selling it, but at least got all of my money back. The leather was thinner than I'm used to, but still looks durable; the interior nylon, however, looks like it'd crump up into a ball if it has my things in it-too much frustration for one bag. Given its size, finding stuff would be impossible.

Fendi spy-had to buy one and check it out, but then promptly returned. The leather doesn't look like it'll hold up, and the closure was just awkward.

Chloe capsule paddington-still like the style, and would use it from time to time, yet the bag is a little heavy. The leather also wasn't extremely durable; my Balenciaga overnight satchel happens to fall under that category as well, so trying to avoid any more of these two brands.

YSL XL muse in coral-love the bag, and didn't buy it in buffalo but calf (mine's one of the last generations), so had no problem with water marks, or stitches unraveling. The corners did wear out a bit faster than I would like; save that, there weren't any big problems.

Overall, there were very few mistakes, and I'm able to either get most of my funds back, or all of it. Pays to be careful, plus detailed in my research!

It would have to be my large Lanvin happy.

Love the bag but the leather is delicate and I don't find myself reaching for it very often (I don't like unused bags!)

Thank you for the review! I assume yours is lambskin? I own one in grained calfskin, and so far it wears like iron; probably the lambskin is more delicate...

Not a bag, but my most disappointing designer purchase has to be my Gucci key pouch. I bought it in February and already the gold hardware has turned to silver. And the leather (?) doesn't seem durable at all as it already has dents and marks. I don't exactly baby it but would expect a bit better quality and durability.

Interesting! I have one, the medium in black. I do find it heavy, and the sealant on the handles has started cracking on me, probably because the bag is heavy and I used it almost everyday for 3 years. But my leather has never scratched. Still one of my favorite bags despite the couple of issues I've had. I think it's very well made, at least the one I got.

I think it depends on the finish as well. I have a pebbled one. The dye started to peel and I sent it in to be redyed and the cobbler told me that every time they add a layer of dye, pain chips would start coming off. It's been a month and I haven't gotten it back yet.

I typically love structured bags but decided to try something different. I purchased the Marc Jacobs Classic Hobo Tote from Nordstrom's. My items tended to sink right into the bottom of the bag which ultimately is dark hole and folded in on itself. Nothing wrong with the handbag (per se) but just a personal preference.

Most expensive disappointment - patent leather Dior Le Trente - I lusted after it when I saw it in pictures. So when I bought it, I thought I would love it. But it was big, overdone, noisy and just...too much. :-( I sold it and was glad to see it go.

And as Mixawows said, the Coach bags I bought in the early 2000's. They just were bad spends. I never loved them and now wonder why I bought them. I got caught up in the silliness. LOL!
