What's the most disappointing bag you've ever bought?

My Rebecca Minkoff fringe crossbody back. I ordered it online and upon opening the package, there was this skunk smell. I just thought that maybe it came from the delivery truck and airing it would clear out the odor. After some time, the skunk smell slightly dissipated and I used it to a casual evening gathering. Throughout the night I kept on smelling the skunk scent, I was embarrassed to sit close to people as they might think I was the one stinking. The next day, i placed it in our donation "box" .

It's only happened once with me and it was with my first premiere bag purchase ever (before I really understood my style and needs).

It was a proenza schouler ps11. I still like the look of it. But it was too bulky, too heavy, the strap regularly would unhook and my bag would go flying, it squeaked loudly with each step I took, and the square hardware on the front smacked my daughter once and cut her cheek :(. I sold it shortly after. Happy to say, I haven't had buyers regret with any of my bags since!

Dolce and Gabbana Miss Easy Way Shopper. I was shopping angry, that's my only excuse. I LOVE red bags but bought it in black because I let the SA convince me I'd carry it more. (I carry red bags all the time, whatever I'm wearing.) The handles are too short to fit comfortably on my shoulder. (Something I would have paid attention to if I hadn't been anger shopping.) It's heavy. (Should have caught that too.) Low resale value. I paid $1,400 plus tax, carried it less than a month, and the best offer I received for it was $300. It's still sitting in my closet 8 years later.

What a funny story. I can relate, but it was a bookbag in high school. I ate lunch on a pinic table outside, and I placed my bag unknowingly on cow manure. I had to play off the stinch combing from my vicinity all day. Nightmare! Nobody knew where the smell was coming from, thank God.

Marc Jacobs Stam - It was too heavy for me and after only gently carrying it a couple of times, the gold tone hardware started to leave gold colored dust on the leather on the sides of the bag. The closure on the bag also was uneven, which I didn't notice when I purchased it from Bloomingdales. After a couple of years of sitting on my shelf, I accepted a direct buy offer from a consignment store.

My most disappointed bag was RM basketweave MAB. I brought it for a Christmas present. I was placed on a waiting list for this popular bag. It was a limited edition bag with a blue zipper made in NY. The bag was made to look like the old school bags I missed out on buying. It is a great bag for people that love this style, which I do. However, my limited edition bag did not match the picture, so I felt disappointed with the bag. My bag lacked the thick pebbled leather, old school flower lining, and tassels that matched the leather like the picture. Since I always wanted this bag, I struggled with returning it. I kept this bag for a while, but I eventually sold it. Now and then, I look to find an old school one in good condition.
Oh, I forgot RM sold me a three corner bag. That was disappointing too. The corner was not squareed. It was like an outlet irregular bag. It should not have passed inspection. I sent that bag back to RM.
