I had a bunch of cheaper bags when I was a little girl, mostly PU and cloth bags. My first "real" brand name bag was a burgundy signature Coach, the Sophia, that my parents bought me when I was in high school. I still have it and use it sometimes. It's in good shape, I took good care of it: for a while it was my only grown-up bag. :D

I had a series of cheap bags growing up, but my first "real" bag was a weatherproof Jack Gomme crossbody that was perfect for busy NYC days. I still have the bag, though it gets used for dog walking now.

First bag I remember: a red leather (or maybe fake leather) shoulder bag that had my initials in white plastic letters. I was probably 7, and the bag was a gift from my grandmother. I probably got my love of bags and jewelry from her, since I sure didn't get it from my mother!

First designer bag: a Mark Cross Murphy bag that was a Christmas gift in 1993 from my DH-to-be. It forever elevated and changed my idea of what I wanted in a bag. I've been a princess ever since! :girlsigh::love:

A small black leather (or maybe fake leather) "doctor bag" satchel, zipper down the center, two handles, with my initials stamped in gold on the side. I can see it clearly. I was 9 years old. My best friend and I had matching purses that year. Who carries a purse in 4th grade??? We did.
