What's the first handbag you ever had?

My first designer bag was my Coach Ashley 3 color matelic signature satchel. I still have her and I still think she is a beautiful bag. She started my love for handbags in general.


My first luxury brand bag was my LV Turenne MM. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this bag and will keep her forever!!! She started my obsession with high end designer bags.

I had the same bag! It is sitting in my closet in pretty poor condition. My first designer bag was a Dior mini saddle bag in denim.

I have that same Girly Boston.

I was in middle school. It was a Juicy Couture velour bag (loooong before they decided to collab with Kohl's, ugh). Got it off of 5th Avenue in NYC while I was on vacation there. I think it was around $200+. After that I got a Juicy Couture velour crossbody, which was around the same price as well.

Of course, mine didn't have the little gold button like things on the straps.

The first handbag I ever got was a muted pink Gucci shoulder bag w. butterscotch leather colored handles. I wore it TO THE DEATH

Chanel square mini in red lambskin. I was no where near ready for red lambskin but I had dreamed about it for so long. Still have it but looking a little roughed up.

My first ever handbag was a Liz Claiborne cream colored crossbody bag (the line with the triangle motif) when I was in elementary school. This handbag line was so popular that a much loved department store in Hawaii at the time carried both Liz Claiborne and “inspired designs” of this handbag line with a square motif! As far as luxury brands are concerned, I do remember browsing in Louis Vuitton as a kid with my Christmas money in hand and admiring a Mini Sac HL. Sadly, of course I did not (and could not) make the purchase.

Mine was a Liz Claiborne crossbody. That was bigtime for me back in the 1980s. I felt like a goddess. I wish I still had that bag.

I felt the same, but I acquired mine in the early 90s. Wow, back then it took a while for trends from the US Mainland to take hold in Hawaii!

My first designer bag I purchased with my own money is a Givenchy pandora goatskin. I still have it and got my money's worth on it although I had to have the zipper repaired in paris.

Coach Holiday Patchwork tote, Freshman or Soph year of college. It was a lovely but heavy bag! I no longer have it and don't really like Coach anymore.

I then acquired a vintage Speedy 25 from 1992

Hahaha. I remember it well! It was hideous & orange & plastic & beaded. I was in grade 5 and it was a birthday gift from a friend.
