What's the first handbag you ever had?

My first ever 'designer' bag was a Velour Juicy Couture bowler bag that I had when I was 15 and they were all the rage...

My first actual designer bag was a Black Prada Hobo in Daino Vitello Leather

So, my story is kind of funny. My first "designer" bag was a Dooney and Burke I got from my mom for my birthday - I think I was 18 or 19. It wasn't my style, and someone told me I could probably return it to Nordstrom and that it was an expensive bag (I had no idea what Dooney and Burke was, lol! I've really only recently started really thinking about spending any sort of real money on a handbag...) Anyway, I take it in and while the saleswoman is looking at it, I'm peeking at the tags in the case on the Dooneys and I'm thinking "Whoa!! $400! My mom spent that much on this??" This would have been about 1995, so that was some big money (I mean, it wouldn't be chump change for me nowadays, either, lol!) But I'm also kind of in disbelief, because there's no way my mom would have spent that much. So now I'm worried it was stolen goods or something, lol! After a several minutes the lady comes over, hands me the bag and says, "I'm sorry sweetie, this isn't real. Where did you say you got this from?" I was MORTIFIED, lol! And then I was worried they thought I was trying to pull one over on them to get the money!! lol! Geez. Anyway, I never asked my mom about the bag and I wore it whenever I saw her for a few years after that, lol!
