What's the craziest thing you've done to be able to afford the bag you wanted?

Haha... I doctors this comic and sent to my DH as a joke the other day. So fitting for this thread.

I've not don't anything crazy, but i have cut corners in other areas e.g. Getting non branded household stuff... Who cares what brand your dish liquid is?? Also, the toaster burns bread, meh, just need to stand by it and eject the bread at the last minute..

I adore this & just showed it to my DH as well! Thanks for the laugh (even though it is serious...ha!)

I finally had a chance to take a photo of the bag because after so many years, I wore it for the first time for brunch this morning! :yahoo: Behold, the bag for which I flew over ten thousand miles! :p

Three photos, one the bag itself, and the other two modeling shots. (Questions: Does the bag look small on me? Or does it still manage to look proportionate?)

I think it looks perfect on you, it's beautiful [emoji3]

I love your story... I ever have a chance to get Hermes Birkin or Kelly. I would have done the same. I know how hard to get Birkin from hermes store. Love the bag too. I like this size on you

Looks great on you! Love the size :-)
I can see why you flew so far for her

Is there a thread like this for shoes? I never understood handbag obsessions, but I am absolutely crazy about shoes! I had to work 6 days a week and 12-14 hours a day for 6 months to buy a pair of Gianmarco Lorenzi Discoballs for my birthday - I'd cry at work, looking at their pictures and thinking "just a little more, I'm doing this for my dream shoes - just a little more..." I was very happy when I finally got them! It was a real dream-come-true moment I'd never had before, and probably never will again. It's one of those feelings you only get once, it grows dim with repetition and just never feels the same again, but you remember it for the rest of your life.

I love how you put it so perfectly... My husband didn't get why I rated the first time I walked out of Chanel with my first classic flap one of 10 happiest moments in my life (so far.) I told him it's much more than a handbag - it's the cumulation of fervent fantasy :D I was elated the whole time! Felt as good as when I finished giving birth minus the pain :)

It's not that crazy... But I sold 4 bags and a wallet on eBay to buy the Pochette Metis...
It's not that I'm tight on money... But I wanted to get rid of all that "junk" anyway and to sell it for a "good cause" (lol) just made parting easier... It was a bunch of MbMJ bags and a Burberry and an APC one.. I didn't loose money on any of these! Cause I got all of them for a total steal years ago and sold them for the same price or even over value ;D
Tbh it's REALLY liberating to get some space and also not to buy MORE but rather replace/change from/to my collection.
I really try to buy only "classic" bags from now on.. No more crazy colours or shapes and more in a "mature" price range of €500 upwards!

I'm doing this now to make room in my closet and wallet for my first LV!
