Whats the best bag for work?

I am also looking at the LV PORTE-DOCUMENTS VOYAGE.
I need a workhorse bag, but also something that looks professional and sleek.
I've been seriously considering the Porte-Documents also. I think it looks so sleek and classy in epi. I'm also considering the Vaneau GM (if my next laptop is smaller than what I currently carry). The NF unfortunately isn't really an option for me - it might hold a lot, but it's just not professional looking enough for my work environment.

I agree with you on the NF!! I thought I was the only one that thought it wasn't professional looking enough. We are of the same mindset.

Depending on the size of your laptop, how about a speedy b 35 or 40? They both have huge capacity, zipped top, are very light weight, and can be carried a variety of ways. They make great travel bags.

Another suggestion is the Noe GM or the larger size one. I had one and use to travel by train into the City every few months with it. It held my laptop (13inch), notebooks/A4 size, pencil case, water bottle, snacks, 2x glasses, thin wrap and my essentials. I have the Neverfull but found the strap was hurting after awhile with all my stuff. If I was travelling in with no laptop, I opted for the Neverfull then.

Woo hoo! Based on all of the love this forum bestows upon the NF as a workbag, I thought that I was the only one too. I spend a lot of time working with clients at their places of business, so dragging around a big tote would just be obtrusive. For the same reason, I tend not to consolidate and typically will carry two items - a laptop/file bag (which is often left behind in a conference room or someone's office) and a smaller handbag (lately I've been relying on alma bbs) that I can more easily take when touring a facility, going to other meeting spaces, freshening up in the ladies room, going out to lunch, etc.

Iéna MM in DE (my fave), mono, or azur  Check out the very thorough videos of JustJennifer on You Tube for size, weight, capacity, features, and functionality as an everyday, work, and travel bag. They are an excellent guide!

Thanks for the suggestion. I will look more closely at the Iéna. At first glance, it didn't look large enough.

I love the Vaneau GM! It's a beautiful bag but seems like it would be on the heavier side. I must look at it much closer.

Yes, the speedy is certainly an opton too. I've never been a hand holder or cross body though so I haven't considered it before.

Hmmm... the Noe GM... an intriguing option worth considering.

What are your thoughts on the Artsy fr a work bag? I love how it looks but it might be too small.

You all have been so incredibly helpful with all the suggestions you've offered me. It gives me a lot to consider. I'm going to try and visit a store this weekend to play around with a few of the bags. This will be my first LV... I'm sure of many. Thank you for helping open my eyes to the possibility.

I would certainly get an organizer. I've been researching Samorga Organizers. Is that what yours is? Can you tell me more about the one you chose? Can it fit a laptop in the long slat in the back?
Yes, it is Samorga but it is the one made for the Speedy 40. The speedy organizer is a little shorter than the NF organizer which allows cinching to look better in my opinion. I beleive it s the hot pink color. I have ha

Yes it is samorga. I have had it for 2 years now and still looks great. No rips or threads coming undone. The color is hot pick I think. Lap top fits in sleeve pocket. I carry a 15 in macbook pro. HTH

Thank you! Good to know it hold up nicely. I know the Samorga is on the pricier side of organizers. The hot pink looks gorgeous in your bag! Is that the Pivoine interior? I, too, would consider the speedy organizer vs the one specific for the nf gm to allow for cinching if I go in this direction.

It is the pivoine. Samorga is pricey but the 2 I have are 2 years old and have held up great. To me, that’s worth the price since I never had to replace them! Good luck in your decision

I am so with you on this. I do try to consolidate however when it comes to my extras (coffee travel mug & water bottle) I carry a different bag for that. When I travel, I now carry a messenger bag for ease, but I'm not loving the look. It's a North Face messenger bag and I'm so over it. I do love the durableness of it, especially when putting in an overhead bin or under the seat on a plane. Need something just as durable but with a lux look and feel. Still on the hunt.

I am in the market for a new work bag. I own a Celine Luggage but it’s too heavy to carry to work so I have been using a Longchamp. I’m considering a NF and after much deliberation believe I’ve decided on the NF GM in Mono. But before I do, I want to run this by all the experts here.

I carry my work laptop nearly daily, along with a notebook or two, glasses, a water bottle, thermal for my morning smoothie, and lunch. I also travel for work every other month and thought it would work for that too.

Knowing all this... which bag would you recommend for me? Are there any other LV styles that would work?
In my opinion, the Neverfull straps become too uncomfortable with that much weight in the bag (one of the reasons I never use it anymore). They are very skinny and therefore cut into your shoulder with a laptop in the bag. It's sort of okay with a heavy coat on, but downright painful without that padding.

I've noticed people either love the NF's handles or say they are horribly painful. I guess, it's subjective and I won't know until I've experienced them myself. I'm afraid of making a pricey mistake.
