i regret my Gucci Joy Boston with metallic trims! Why? Because the trims started to come off/peel off after a few months. What's worse... it was my FIRST designer bag! And yes, I loved it because it was my first. Needless to say everytime I see that bag my heart breaks. And wat's worse, I can't really sell it (I don't think so anyways) since the trims are coming off.. it looks really bad. :censor:

Hi, I'm new and this is a perfect thread for me.

I had a sweater knit Fendi bag that now belongs to my sister- the bag was perfect and practical, but it had plates with logos on them on the front side that drove me crazy. When you wear a bag with the front side in because you don't like it facing out, it's definitely a sign.

The other one I regret is a vintage white, heavy silk eyelet A-frame D&G bag. The silk has come out of the frame at the top and what was adorable when I got it now really reminds me of something my grandmother had (hers was black leather, but the frame and kisslock are totally similar). I should get it repaired- my sister loves it, too, so it's better that she use it than to have it sitting on the top shelf of my closet.

I sold my 05 Black Balenciaga city bag because I thought it was "too small" for my needs, so I bought an 07 work instead. The work is HUGE and the leather was so stiff and dry in comparrison to my 05, but I couldn't sell it. Ended up consigning it and buying an 09 city, and lost a TON of money in the process.

BALENCIAGA!!!!!
sorry bbag girls! i was obessed with bbags and after almost a year and realized with that much of money i spend on the same design of bags with different colors i can buy a lot of others designers gorgeous bags which suit my lifestyle and i do not have to baby or worries using them as bbags are so fragile!!!! but it's just me, don't hate me!!!

very informative thread!:D

ive always loved Bally and when i saw this big brown smoochy bag on sale for 1/3rd its price i HAD to have it! Its quite big and heavy which means ive just carried it a couple of times in the past, but i still love its looks and the leather and quality is crazy good... wish it was smaller though :p

My Gustto Parina. It is a gorgeous bag but I got the largest size and I am only 5 feet, 2 inches and the bag is so huge I could hop inside it. I am going to consign it and hopefully get some of my money bag to buy another handbag.

I've always been a classic/neutrals kind of a person, but some time ago I decided that a punch of colour would be a good idea. I bought a really beautiful pink Cole Haan bag, but never used it. It sat on a shelf for over a year looking very appealing if out of place and in the end went to my favourite charity store. Not a huge regret, more of a learning experience.

I bought a high-end clutch because it was on sale for $800 (about 30% off) even though it was patent leather (which I don't care for) and it was hard to carry (a strange shape).

I used it once, hated how it felt in hand, and sold it recently for $400.

Not a major loss, but a lesson learned.

Oh my do I have a lot of handbag regrets. LOL

Everything from my YSL downtowns to LV to Coach. These past couple years I have mostly Belen Echandia regrets. Either they proved too heavy, too delicate, too much hardware or boxy/square looking. I know that's a lot of error there.

On a brighter note these days I'm learning from my mistakes and no longer make any impulsive purchases. In some ways I think handbag error is actually a good thing!

I do know it makes you appreciate when you finally find a bag that you love!:smile1:

Hermes Picotin MM. It was the first Non-CHANEL designer bag I had purchased. Not practical bag, as it does not close, so I ended up consigning it and purchasing another CHANEL.

I have quite a few handbag regrets but my biggest one was a Coach signature bag. I bought it several years ago when the original signature design was fairly new. I carried it for awhile and then started noticing that EVERYONE had a similar bag. Also, I once bought a Michael by Michael Kors bag that was a complete waste of money. The handles cracked and the bag lost its shape after a few months of wear.

I bought an orange Kipling purse about five years ago and I use it, but not daily. Tastes change, especially since I was 14 years old when I bought the purse. It's still cute, but not something I would use anymore unless I was desperate. Sad, I know.
