So, I’ve always wanted to eventually get a pear shaped diamond ring, but I didn’t expect that I would end up down this route…
When I was back home visiting family during Eid, my mother was going through her jewellery collection, some of her pieces I had never really seen before. One of the pieces was a yellow gold pendant necklace with a pear shaped diamond centre.
Whilst I was admiring it, my mum unexpectedly said I could have it, as she hadn’t worn necklaces for years after wearing the hijab, and she knew how much I loved diamonds lol. Only proviso was that I didn’t let my sister know. LOL!
I ended up having the diamond re-set into a platinum ring with pave shoulders and a hidden halo. It was finally ready, and I’m so thrilled with it now!
I traded in the gold from the necklace and used the proceeds to get my mum a new gold bracelet before I arranged for the ring to be set, one good turn deserves another I would say lol. She’d get so much more use out of that in any case.
Anyway, here’s my new diamond acquisition!
Edit: OMG my apologies for the un-moisturised hands! I could give an alligator a run for its money and turn them into handbags at this point!

I wore it today with my Ceylon sapphire ring which was gifted by my late dad. I can say that I have a tribute of both my parents on my hands today!
