What Other Jewelry Brands Do You Buy/Wear?

ohh interesting! yes, definitely jewelry is a personal journey for sure. I would love to hear why you feel like this repels you - is it because of the chunkiness or the combination of the stones? I'm on the fence on this one
I think these opinions can be so specific to each person. For example I am so not a fan of round halos because they remind me of eyeballs. But most of the world loves them. And that is just my oddity. This particular ring makes me think of a two headed caterpillar. So weird right? But how many other people will get that same feeling? Probably nobody else. Again my oddity. You should get it if it calls to you. For example I like acrylic jewelry and chunky pieces that have a strong 70s vibe cause those were my formative years. I can’t tolerate yellow gold because they’re too reminiscent of 80s Krystle Carrington and Alexis hair pulling cat fights. So everyone carries their own jewelry biases. 🤣

@etoupebirkin, or anyone, I had a question. You have so many other beautiful pieces, and I loved the pendants you posted in the other thread (but did not want to derail). Do you know of any designers who do beautiful pieces like this in white gold? I would love, love, love an amulet from Temple St Clair but cannot bring myself to wear yellow. Thanks in advance.

I just wanted to say that I have all white gold Alhambra with the exception of my first piece from 2016 which was the yg hammered bracelet (and a few recent additions prior to the price increase). But I had always loved Temple St. Clair and started collecting it when the pandemic came and VCA had low stock in most of the things I wanted. Even though wg/platinum looks better on me, I think the style of TSC pieces are just superior in yellow gold (I've seen a couple of white gold pieces from the past and they don't compare). The gold is substantial and luxe in her chains and other pieces. So I basically have a white gold collection and a yellow gold collection and wear it with clothes that look best with one or the other.

Since this is a thread on other jewelry brands, TSC is the only branded jewelry I collect aside from VCA. I can see why people would like both because they both produce lovely nature inspired pieces, but the styles are both classic but very different. I'll post a few pics!

Gorgeous pieces! The pieces I love are the Tolomeo and the simple original rock crystal amulet but both deserve a rich gold chain. If I can wrap my head around that I would get them in a heartbeat. I guess my problem is I don’t have or want a huge collection. What I have I wear every day (other than my WMOP VA which I think of as special occasion for me). Otherwise it’s a Cartier watch, plain perlee band, wedding set, and currently the WG VA guillche 5 motif. I want a pendant to complement this daily set but don’t love any of the VCA offerings right now or current Cartier (other than the plain Santos chain). I kind of like the idea of a Paspaley lavallier. I love the Garrard wing but feels to blingy and not understated.

Thanks for sharing your pieces. Always so beautiful.

I love the pictures of the Garrard wings necklace too but it does feel a lot for every day , I agree. I've been looking for a wg necklace for a long time now with no luck, I'll be interested in seeing what you try or find .

Ha! I'm a one and done kind of gal so need to make it stick.

I like the cartier amulette in white gold pave and the berlingot in wg onyx pave (horizontal one) but not made anymore; similar the perlee diamonds (round one, not barrel). There are several platinum Elsa Peretti for Tiffany I've thought about (platinum teardrop or rock crystal teardrop) but am hesitant to buy preloved. I have a DBTY but am really looking for something a little longer and a little more impactful.

The hunt continues and distracts from real life, so is very welcome, as are these pages. Thanks to everyone for sharing.

ETA: I've also looked at Boucheron, Chaumet, Chopard, Harry Winston... I'm feeling very Goldilocks as I write this.

Thank you!!! I hear you on wanting a collection that you can wear often. I truly have a much smaller collection than many people here, and I don't intend to buy much more VCA or TSC as the things I have aren't worn a lot as it is (my Alhambra is also not daily wear for me)! I wear diamond studs and wedding set (in platinum) the most!!! The Tolomeo is amazing and basically a collectible art piece, but the recent price increases have easily eliminated that for me (it was $28k for a long time and increased twice and is now $40k, I think!!!). I am just thankful I bought the things I did prior to the increases!

The Paspaley lavalier is absolutely gorgeous and I know someone who has one with a fabulous South Sea pearl! I think that leans a little dressy, though. The wg pave Vintage Alhambra is beautiful, but I take it you have ruled that out?

Similarly here, I've looked at Tiffany, Graff, H W and Boucheron so far.

I got the WG Perlée clover (barrel style) pendant to go with my WG guilloche bracelet. For me this is an everyday piece. I love the way it moves around on the chain and is always centered.

I am strongly considering this one. I'm hoping to see it in real life at some point and hope that will provide clarity. Right now I hesitate as I think it may be a bit small and I'm not sure if I like the steep "v" it hangs in. It would certainly be the most cohesive for my collection!

The original Tolomeo is certainly steeply priced, but also huge. There is a smaller version I think would be more wearable, and more affordable, if I ever leap into yellow gold.

I'm trying to avoid alhambra at the neck (other than one day having a ten motif wmop to go with my bracelet and earrings for very fancy occasions (by my standard)).

I like the idea of something medallion shaped. Definitely leaning toward rounder more organic shapes. Part of the problem is I live somewhere with no high end shops. I am going to have a day in Vancouver soon and hope to check out a few boutiques, but of course stock is so low. I'll keep y'all posted!

I agree that the smaller Tolomeo would be much easier for me to wear. I can't edit my earlier post but I just saw that the latest price on the large Tolomeo is actually $47k!!!

I can totally relate to not having local access to any high end shops. Our NM VCA closed several years ago, so now I pretty much order everything.

We will look forward to hearing your updates!
