went to bvlgari and tried on the divas dream necklaces. loved both, but i thought the carnelian was a bit more beautiful. however the mother of pearl would obviously be a lot easier to match—especially since i mostly wear blues and greens. any thoughts on whether to go for practical or passionate—or how to wear and match carnelian jewelry? red has always been a difficult color for me to integrate in my wardrobe!

Both look beautiful on you!
I wear carnelian with all colors except pastel pink/blue and peach or red .
It looks beautiful on olive green, navy, white, cream, grey , tan , really so many colors.
Can you wear a top in a color you wear most often and go try it on and see how you like it?

Are you looking for a piece you can wear very often, or a piece to potentially fill a gap in your collection?
The MOP looks so lovely on you, but at the same time it’s easier to find a great “neutral“ pendant. Whereas at least in my experience, it is not easy to find the right shade for red stones/carnelian that you love!

also wondering for other east asian ladies here, how do you style 22/24k gold? i’ve inherited quite a bit which i want to wear for sentimental purposes, but the bright yellow color feels too harsh/almost tacky on my skin tone. any tips?

I own some pieces by Gurhan which I love. The pieces are hammered gold and I find them to have a warm yellow tone but I do agree it makes it harder to match and I eventually had to get the matching earrings. IMG_8321.jpeg

I come from an Asian family, and I also have a lot of 24k gold. All are stored in a bank safe. There are a few that had no sentimental value, and I sold them. I used the funds to buy something I would wear (5 diamond ring to commemorate the birth of our third son, making it a family of 5).

I have a lot in the form of bangles and misc jewelry from my relatives. I melted some of it down to use in new pieces, so that I could chose styles more suited to bright yellow. I did some larger cuff bracelets because the bright color is not right next to my face, and bracelets are a safer choice for softer gold vs rings.

I’m so thrilled, my latest jewellery commission has finally been completed and I went to pick it up yesterday!

It’s a 1.18 carat champagne diamond (Fancy Orangy Brown) in a radiant cut, set in platinum with two 0.15 trilliant side diamonds. I wanted an Art-Deco inspired piece, and I’m so happy with how it turned out!

I can foresee this being my default right-hand ring for a long time! Haha.

Thanks for letting me share!

Even though I have been to Florence twice, I didn't really take a good look at shops. I was distracted by galleries and museums.
When searching for other options of jewellery with crystals or stones, I came across this shop called Torrini located in Florence. Have you ever shopped there? By looking at their website, it seems like they offer quality pieces. The gold coin designs look nice.
What's your experience if you have ever shopped there?
Thanks.
