What Other Jewelry Brands Do You Buy/Wear?

I wish @tenshix :hbeat: I haven’t bought any of the H nail colors since last year when the two new colors were introduced. BTW I do my own nails too! Mine chip fast and I tried the gel at the nail salon and hated how my nails looked and felt after they took off the gel nail polish. Never repeating that mistake again!

Oh oh! This is so off topic, but maybe we can discuss the best ways to do your nails at home and make it look good and last. I also do mine myself, and I’m lucky if it lasts 3 days, despite trying, lol. I’d love any suggestions by anyone here, just send me a message.

To stay on topic: I do love some Cartier, although haven’t bought anything recently. I’m a watch girl, so I go that route. I’m surprised I got bitten by brand-name jewelry, since I always wore luxury watches with non-brand, but funky, unique 18k-YG jewelry.

I don’t know if this counts, but I’m a massive Shinola fan. Newest add here (Bixby)!

Bracelets are my hawaiian heirloom bracelets - YG used to be my mom’s - (says ‘Kuuipo’ / sweetheart in black glass), green gold lehua blossom new add from me :)

There’s also a fun legend on the lehua blossom if anyone loves folklore.

Shinola has a cool retro vibe. Love the polished metal and awesome colors. I’m thinking 50s ice cream parlors and classroom clocks. Too bad the size doesn’t work for me.

I would lean toward Buccellati because it looks more refined to me. The Bee line has a more youthful and fun vibe which perfect if that’s what you’re looking for.

Thats true! I feel the same, but i do like both! My only concern is if the macri effect can be re-done if scratched? Not sure if it is like the guilloche. I read that you visited the LA boutique and they mentioned if scratched they can re-establish the macri?

I visited the Las Vegas boutique. I don’t know how many there are in the US but I would call them and just ask. I’m not sure which stores carry them. NM? Saks? I don’t remember what they said exactly. Sorry.

I called my local boutique, am in Singapore. They recently opened one last year but because they are so new, they havent seen any brought in to restore the macri design after wear n tear.. but they did say can be sent in for a fee and they will return piece to Italy for servicing. So i am not quite convinced.

I dropped an email, will see what the official reply is from Buccellati

I am guessing they can redo the etching for you. They are probably trying to spread the exposure of its brand so they will likely accommodate clients more at this time. Crossing fingers for you.

You r right dear!

I got an official reply to my query as to whether macri effect can be restored, from buccellati. In case anyone else is wondering ♡

"

The light spreads elegantly over the semi-matt surface created by Gianmaria Buccellati 40 years ago and known worldwide as the 'Rigato' technique.

To achieve this 'fabric effect', a master goldsmith engraved the entire precious surface, strip by strip, entirely by hand.

When a model is not available, we offer our customers the possibility of having it made to special order in one of our boutiques or official dealers by a craftsman, and we confirm the waiting time, which is currently about 8 months.

Buccellati jewellery is meant to be worn every day and therefore certainly durable.

Since we care passionately about each of our sophisticated creations, we have put together a series of tips, that you can find in the care advices section, or below, to help you take care of your beloved bracelet.

Should the need arise to have your Macri bracelet re-engraved or to repair any accidental scratches, you will always have the possibility to visit any official Buccellati boutique or retailer , where you will be able to request an after-sales service that will bring your bracelet back to the high standards of our Maison."

Buccellati is gorgeous, but the Rigato finish is a very satin matte. It will not have that shiny metal look, so depending on what other pieces you plan to wear with the bracelet (especially a ring), you may find it a bit dull.

I am not sure which bracelet you are considering.
The thin bangles may not make that much of a difference in how matte it looks, but I find the wider cuffs are a bit too matte for me. I was looking at a wide cuff, it was so gorgeous, but in the end, I decided the Rigato does not quite go with most of my jewelry pieces. At least not today! I have been known to change my mind and cave.

The Buccellati look is old world glamour which is a look I love. I have their jewelry books and love love love their pieces.
Most pieces though are not a contemporary modern look so think about your look and if it works.

If you like a matte finish, I think you will love Buccellati.

Thank you for sharing- yes in dim lighting it has a lovely mattish look but i personally dont like the look.of too much shiny mirrored finishing.. the rigato effect is perfect for me because its rather low key yet the intricate carvings around each diamond keeps me intrigued with the bangle. For now, i feel this bangle ticks 95% of my boxes in terms of what i am looking for in a bangle! It also matches the rest of my YG rings ! The diamond "motifs" stands out very well against YG!

I super love the Tulle series, but i dont think I can carry off the look on a day to day basis.. its super gorgeous though the lace effect☆☆

P/s, i love the way the rigato effect glimmers in the light! This is also my one and only bangle in my collection. I tried the Love cuff but it hurts the hell outta me to put on. This was a breeze and there is no white gold clasp sticking out (like the VCA YG perlee bangles). I am too fussy so it was really hard to find the perfect bangle lol♡

It matches just fine with regular clothes.. im a new fangirl of buccelatti

This is gorgeous on you!

The Rigato on that thin bangle looks great with your rings. Plus, you chose the flat bangle and not the rounded (for what it’s worth, I prefer a flat bangle if the width is thin).

I vote yes! It looks beautiful on you.
