I personally think a lot of designers take inspiration from Shaun's edgey pieces. He was the first to make "thorn" jewelry fashionable in the 90s (the infamous thorn crown he did for McQueen). Then he created the "Hook" earrings which so many designers now copy (he also did Talon).
I thought the same thing when I saw Megan Fox's "interlocking" ring. It could honestly have been two of Shaun's interlocking Aurora rings. Webster's ring needs a magnet to stay together, but Leane's ring truly "interlocks" as part of the design. When I was working with them, they told me it took over a year for Shaun Leane to perfect that design after many tries to get it to interlock perfectly. I love that ring for it's architectural design which is why I wanted one. I still love the ring, and next time I cross the pond, I may just get a finished piece as I know for sure how it looks.
Stephen Webster has edgey pieces too of course, and I suppose all jewelry designers get inspiration from each other.
A similar comparison would be Seaman Schepps and David Webb who pieces are so obvious they drew inspiration from Verdura.
I was recently invited to a Seaman Schepps event, and all I could think of was I was seeing Verdura copies.

Seaman Schepps does admit their piecew were inspired by Verdura, among others.
I'm not saying it's bad; it's more an observation to know the brand and history.
