What I miss from Reed that Stuart has NOT continued is the beautiful embossed leathers. I'd like to see more Croc, python, etc. And especially in the Rouge. Can I please have a Croc embossed rogue,
I think that is because they are now using the real thing, which makes things very expensive. It might be a move to elevate the brand. I'd rather have the embossed versions since Coach did these really well.

They always did a little bit of the real thing...even Reed. Here is an example of a real ostrich

But, now, they are doing more for sure.

Coach does embossed as well as anyone.

And there is clearly a big segment different in people who will buy an $800 embossed croc rogue (ME!) and the $4000 (not me) real thing. I fell in love with the real thing. This bag. And passed because of price.

Isn't it pretty. Love.....it was 4 or 5K.

The older Coach bags that were made with the real thing don't sell for much in the resale market. Python is one I really don't care for the feel of; I much prefer the embossed version. Reed had a lot of trouble selling the real thing. He only made a few when he had RK, and they ended up being sold at clearance. People weren't ready to pay that much for a relatively unproven designer. Basically, because he came from Coach, people didn't think his bags were worth as much as premium design houses that had a track record, even if they had the quality.

My hope for the future of Coach is that the designers remember that there are three kinds of customers - those who like embellishment on their bags, those who don't like embellishment, and some, like me, who appreciate a little of both. If a Rogue is to be in one color, I will be way more drawn to it if it has whipstitched handles, for example. On bags, I really appreciate the silver, gunmetal, and dark copper hardware, and wish that more than one of the newer Rogue bags (without the small handles) with the Coach "C" chains on the straps came with gunmetal chains (like the Ivy option does). I would have purchased that one in black if it didn't come with goldtone hardware. And, if Coach ever made a Peony colored (or other pinkish colored) bag with rose gold tone hardware (like the newer Mulberry Bayswaters mini bags) I think I might faint in the store from happiness. Finally, I would love to see some Dinky bags without the brown colored leather woven throughout the links of the bag, if that brown color doesn't look the best with the colors of the bag. I wish the black tea rose dinky came with black leather woven into the strap, instead, for example.

I have a pink Coach with rosegold hardware. It's from several years ago.

It's really too bad. I loved some of Reed's higher end bags. But, I love Coach.

I do hope Stuart starts to do embossed bags though. I really wanted that Rouge I posted. It's so pretty.
