And make sure the replacement straps are long enough to fit buyers of any height and body type! That means at least a 24-25 inch maximum drop so that even the model-tall ladies AND the guys (!) can wear them crossbody comfortably.

One more thing, and I know I'm :btdh: with this. But how about handbags with useful outside POCKETS? Maybe even (gasp!) on the front of the bag? Something that can actually hold a phone or a set of keys or something a little bigger than just a lip gloss?

WE NEED POCKETSESSSSSSS, PRECIOUSSSSSS !!!
OMG. YES! How could I forget this! And not these super thin pockets like on the Parker...full length exterior slip pockets...phones aren't getting smaller so exterior pockets should fit a variety of phones as should slip pockets inside (i.e. the slip pockets in the Charlie barely fit my Galaxy S8+).

100x yes! The interior slip pockets are useless to me on a lot of these bags. I don't really need a slip pocket that can only fit my chapstick :/ and same with exterior pockets. Most of the time I don't bother using it if it doesn't fit my phone.

Yes. Absolutely. Our phones are bigger now, sooooo

Rise as Gucci did, and become the american version of LV (I hope)

Coach was founded only 20 years later than Gucci, and Gucci has risen ever since they being led by a genius designer and started hit the market with many popular bags. While Coach is still struggling even though Coach does have being led by a fantastic designer, and has released so many good designs with good quality. Even better than Gucci.

The reason of this struggle is "Brand Image". Coach has cheapen their brand by the massive outlet selling, deepest discount (%50 OFF) every twice a year and many steep discount events (30%-40% off) time to time, and this is still on going.

So if Coach wants to become the luxurious club, here's what I think coach should do:
First, keep focus on the good quality leather and craftsmanship. keep use leather lining on 1941 bags. Do not omit detail just because of cost control.
Second, stop massive outlet. For 1941 collection, do not massive produce, and stop discounting or even increase the price over time. Many designer bags get more popular and desirable when it increases the price.
Third, keep certain popular design (Rogue, cooper) as permanent line. Create brand substantial value.

IMO. It's all depends on where Coach wants to go. Either a) the the leadher ship of American Luxury Fashion houses, or B) a massive production profitable & affordable brand like they used to. I will part with Coach eventually if they kept aiming B) .

Since I'm more a collector of their keychains / charms than so many bags, I'd like to see a return of the great detailed fobs.....such as the leather ones, like the dragon and the Penelope flowers and the metal ones like the little 3D elephant and queen bee.

Amen to that! I have about 150 Coach keychains but have probably only bought 2 new styles in the last 2 years. They're not only more cheaply made and less detailed, but far too many of them are just plain BORING. (I won't even go into the ones with spring gate clips that won't stay closed!)
Agreed! I have over 200 and most are older styles. The new ones are more expensive and most are very plain and cheaply made. I'm talking about those flat ones with a picture printed on them. Bigger is not necessarily better!

Also agree with soft leather. My vintage bags still have nicer leather than anything they make today. I also like archive inspired designs, which they seem to be doing now. But make them in all one color and without loads of embellishments. Let the leather be the star, not a gimmick.

Color is very important to me too. Make more jewel tones. Purples, blues, reds, and greens.

Completely agree as I said keep coaches canvas and signature for outlets and preserve and develop the 1941 line - and please treat the UK and European market in the same way as the US one we want to be treated the same

I agree about the fobs. I would think that elephants, bees, and other animals would appeal to some people because of their status--could attract some environmentally conscious people like me. I'd love an elephant.

I would like to see them expand the 1941 line with a return of high quality leather bags with very minimal branding as well as little embellishment. Since that may be more of a niche desire, I suspect I'll need to search out small designers who specialize in that type of bag.

I agree! Have you looked into Mansur Gavriel? Their style is to simple and yet so elegant. I'm really into the Lady Bag

I couldn't have said it better myself!

Add more medium sized bags. This is not just Coach but has been the trend for the past couple of years. So many mini bags. They are so cute, but too small to be useful to me.

I agree about the keyfobs, I miss the fun, collectible keyfobs they used to have. If they want to appeal to millennials, I would think the fun $40-$50 keyfobs would be fall right in there. I remember when seeing next season's keyfobs was as a big a deal as seeing next season's bags.

Linings - I miss colorful linings

Siggy bags IMO should be outlet or department store only (Macys etc)

I am not sure I agree that Coach needs to put the kibosh on their discounts. Coach only has a couple of sales per year, not every other month PCE like they used to. The outlets carry mainly made for factory bags, they are no longer inundated with a 50 + 20% discount off full price 8 weeks after release. They have been fairly successful addressing that problem. Personally I think their prices have gone way up. Without the occasional discount I would never buy. Even at 40% off, the prices for bags I like are still higher than say a comparable discounted high end Madison Sophia. I am not opposed to paying more $ for a bag I like, but my perception of Coach as a brand is still at a certain price point and I won't pay more than that. I know they are trying to change this perception, but I am not there yet. Not sure I ever will be

For more cool collabs because they're very different. Stuart does a good job with this bc the cartoon characters he chooses are a bit under the radar, old school or simply classic. As a milennial that's what drew me into Coach as of late. I wasn't seeing this being done with other brands so I appreciate it. I would also love for Coach to create a fresh and modern monogram print as I mentioned in another thread.

I completely agree with this!!!

Good point!! Adjustable straps so the wearer can wear as they like.

I would so love to see some more of the vintage bags with jewel tones!! And the vintage glove tanned leather not the thin leather they used when they brought them back last time.

And though I’m not usually a monogram person, I think it might be interesting if they came up with a carriage design. If they must have logo/monogram it would be better if they came up with something fresh.
