I love round brilliants, especially hearts and arrows. I like ovals. I also love the clean look of emerald cut and asscher cut. I love a nice marquise, but they are so often cut windowy and dull.
I don't like princess cuts at all.
I don't like cluttery rings. No offense to anyone who has a ring like this (to each their own) but more than I dislike any particular cut of stone, I dislike rings with pave all over (the sort of of pave which looks like it's trying to be filigree and failing) and I don't usually like sidestones. If sidestones are there as part of a design that has integrity, I don't mind, but all too often it seems as if the only purpose of all the random baguettes and half-moons and what have you stuck all over a ring is to make the center stone look bigger than it is. Which doesn't work--or at least doesn't work once you get close. I'd rather see a small center stone of good quality standing on its own in a clean design , which is rare nowadays, than one junked up with too much stuff.
