My favorite is an all-gold Rolex Submariner with black dial, If I could have only one expensive watch. But of course then I would have to buy an inexpensive watch for going out in some more feminine outfits. Then I would go for an Invicta.
I may actually get that Rolex this year. Yum!
I love large watches, and at 52, and still resisting bifocals, they are the only Rolexes I can easily read. Even the midsize and the men's non-sport watch styles are getting too small for my eyes!

A a very rich guy who has unlimited funds I think I am best to answer this.....
I have built a watch collection for my wife....
They are:-
1) Rolex President in Yellow gold with Diamond dial and Diamond bezel. Classic $$$ item. Yellow gold means no confusion with steel.... the watch of the seriously rich.
2) Cartier Diablo - I love the 5 saphires on this critter.... My wife is Japanese so we got the MINI DIABLO VERSION! Lovely blue strap.... CLASS CLASS - we almost choose a TANK instead HOWEVER .... the tank can come in GOLD PLATE ..... YUK! ... the Diablo is an 18K GOLD animal ONLY
3) Cartier VLC with Diamonds - spur of the moment purchase at the cartier shop..... 18K BIG MONEY ITEM..... When you have too much money you do silly things at times!!!! Very classy however.....
4) Baume & Mercier 18K Riviera - Classic understated watch......
5) Audemars Piguet steel and gold.... classic piece.... far too $$$$$ - PROBABLY A SILLY PURCHASE in hindsight......
6) Omega Constellation in Steel - just a classic to wear around the house or when gardening...... Every collection needs a STEEL WORK HORSE.....

My favorite classic would be a masterpiece- or basically a datejust with diamonds. My favorite modern looking watches are the J12 and any of the Panerais. I loooove the Pams.
Great collection, but I'm surprised no one's voiced being offput by your tones in the posts. Out of 8 posts, you sound completely arrogant and snobbish. Most of us are on this forum because we appreciate nice stuff, but is it really necessary to go "yuck, only 18k plate?" To put it simply, money doesn't always buy class, so please don't be one of those. We'd still like to see your collections though.
