^ 1.5 carat size. I wanted 1 carat b/c that is what my real studs are, but the one carat ones were more expensive! They are the platinum clad ones- they had really good reviews by buyers. I'm anxious to see what they look like in person!

When I contacted the CS at QVC the lady said to clean the CZs in clear soap and warm water yet other times I hear that soaps do nothing but mske build up and make the stones muggy looking, merky and not cloudy. I'm not sure how up clean my CZs properly!!

I have a two diamonique pieces that I wear regularly & another that incorporates diamonique in a Judith Ripka designed piece. These pieces sparkle like nobodies business. I do prefer them in the smaller sizes though...for the price, diamonique is a quality product and will not disappoint! In particular, I love the pieces for travel ~ no need to hassle with insurance! As others have stated above, their customer service is superb so I would encourage anyone to buy with confidence.

I use regular liquid jewelry cleaner to clean my Diamonique. I have many pieces and love them all- they always look beautiful. My stud earrings are 3 ct total Asscher cut set in white gold. They look totally believable and I would never, ever consider buying real diamond studs when I could get a nicer look in Diamonique. I think they were about $50.

^ I think that carat weight would likely be in the realm of believability, depending on how the stone is set, as well as the materials. Do you have a link? I think that would help people to give you input.

I ordered stud earrings and I'll post what I think when I get them, in case you are still on the fence about ordering.

i dont have the link right this minute, its on the other computer. but it looks similar to a bezel. the stone isnt all high setting, its low and kind of hugged all around with 14k white gold. when i get the chance ill link it.

Have you girls ever tried interlaps? They're sold by Wink Jones who also sells ACA diamonds on a separate website and is a reputable jeweller. The interlaps are quite beautiful, well-cut and comes in all shapes and sizes. I have 2 pairs of interlap earrings in 1.5 ctw and 2 ctw RBs which my jeweller set for me in 18K WG and he tells me they are some of the nicest CZs he's ever seen. I also have them as earrings in emerald cut, oval and heart shaped which I'd not buy as diamonds but are good fun to buy when CZs.

Wink's website is www.freecz.com. According to the ladies at the sim sites, they're way better than most HSN, QVC and Diamonique - I'm just taking their word for it since I've never bought from either of the 3.

ACA diamonds are exclusive to Whiteflash. Wink sells Infinity, another beautifully cut diamond. ACA [A Cut Above] is a branded stone, developed by Brian Gavin at WF and is comparable to the HOF brand. I have both ACA and HOF and can recommend them. I don't know anything about simulants, so this is just a FYI:smile1:

Has anyone else here had trouble with their Diamonique pieces turning cloudy over time? QVC used to always claim that Diamonique wouldn't turn all cloudy like other CZs. My mom bought me a pair of heart-shaped Diamonique studs when I was a teen (very cute for a teen, I might add). I still have them, and they are cloudy. Pretty disappointing considering my mom paid $40 for them at the time which was and still is a lot for CZs set in sterling. I could have gotten the same quality at a store like Target for less than $20.

I have a ring I bought about ten years ago from QVC that turned cloudy. I called their customer service and they asked whether I still had the receipt. Um, no. They told me to write a letter to a particular department with a special address and they would search their microfilm for my purchase and once they located that they would replace the ring.

I never bothered. I soaked my ring in liquid detergent for a day (Era brand), scrubbed it with a toothbrush and it looked o.k. again, although still a little cloudy.

That's how I clean my diamonique--soak it overnight in Era which pulls off the grime.

I have a bit of diamonique but I bought it many years ago when the settings were more substantial. It's held up well and I like it.

I read some years ago in a business magazine that QVC had a patent on a special CZ-manufacturing process. But if so I don't believe all their CZ is manufactured that way. There are many different qualities of CZ. I think QVC purchases a high quality. If you compare it to the CZ in Wal-mart the Wal-mart stuff looks pretty atrocious. I have found some very nice CZ earrings in dept. stores that are every bit as nice as QVC earrings and much cheaper. And I've seen CZ in jewelry stores that is as nice as the QVC stuff but far more expensive.

I like CZ because I tend to be very hard on jewelry.

By the way I was traveling once and someone went through the stuff in my hotel room. They stole the $30 Diamonique studs and left the more expensive jewelry. Some stupid thief got a nasty surprise.

I have seen some of Wink's pieces and can say that they are really beautiful. I haven't done business with him myself, but did inquire about having some loose diamonds set, and his staff was absolutely great to deal with. They answered my questions completely and quickly. I ended up taking the stones to a local jeweler to have a ring made, but only because I was in his store and got to talking to him about what I wanted and he gave me a good price and a quick turnaround time. I will pick up the ring this week. If I am not thrilled with his work, my next custom piece will probably go to Wink.

I believe that most online jewelers will allow you to order a loose stone to check out the quality before you have it set. If you don't love it, send it back and try something else.

I read somewhere that ammonia based cleaners (I think many jewelry cleaners are ammonia based) can cause both real and simulated diamonds to become cloudy. I use GemCare for all of my jewelry because it isn't ammonia based and is supposed to be natural, I think? I bought it on Amazon - I think it was about $25. It's great on my diamonds, gold, silver, etc., and is supposed to be safe enough for emeralds and pearls, which is great as I have tons of emeralds.
