hahaha, at the moment, cry and sell my U2 tickets... you know some ppl are willing pay over $500 just for normal admission!!!

nah, j/ks i'd never sell the tickets unless - nah j/ks!

I save and try to cut on other things I love. the good thing is that I'm going to be skinny if I cut the food to buy a bag. That sounds like a plan to me. We can have a charity event for the starved ones!

I have been going through this for the past couple of days...There is a 28cm gold Kelly togo in Hermes here right now...I tried on a bluejean one last week, it's gone. I really want this kelly. I called Hermes in Balharbour and asked if they were getting any bluejean Birkins or kelly's or Gold (tan) color anything. The SA said I would NEVER find that there, it is so popular I would have to wait for years. So, here it is in Hermes sitting there but that means forgoing an entire 6 months of bags, clothes whatever... What would you guys do? I have decided to pass it up and have a good Vacation in a couple of weeks and buy alot more than just one $8000. bag.

oo the bluejean would have been nice :D I like the gold too though. I am in the market for the 35cm black/magenta Kelly. They only had the 32 brown when I went last:cry: I guess I'll just have to keep going back until it comes in. They said they aren't doing special orders, bastards!:worried:

If it's something attainable, then safe up for it as the others say, cook at home at night and make a bit more to bring to work for lunch the next day. Eat out less, invite people over instead, people bring drinks, it can be really cozy and fun. Save until you have the cash to pay for it, then get it. Don't get it on credit, because if you can do it once, you can do it over and over again. Before you notice, you will end up with a debt.

But if it's something unattainable, then forget it. There are so many beautiful things in life that we don't have to have it all, we can just admire it.

I try to divide the price over a few months. For example, if a bag is $1500, I try to save $500 for three months or $750 over two. Sell things you don't need, or have a garage sale. Cut out all extras. If it is not doable, then I get bummed for a day and then move on.

On a side note, I have started a "freedom account". I keep a certain dollar amount in it. If I have a "must have this bag now" situation, I can take the money out of the account. I do not buy anything else until I build the account up to my par level. I know this may not help you now, but it is a nice idea for the future.

I usually ebay my least-loved bag. I feel really guilty when I have too many costly bags. I like to keep my collection nice and neat and only have bags that I LOVE.

Save up. I live on campus, so I don't have to worry about the whole eating out costs, but I have a weakness for shopping on-line ( urban outfitters should stop making such adorable shirts!!!). So, I want a bag- and I'm attempting to not buy anything but essentials, and saving up untill I get it. I've thought about begging my boyfriend- but honestly, I'd rather get it for myself. :)

( I was actually talking to my boyfriend about being able to afford bags last night- when I graduate and get a real job... I was like "I'm going to buy myself a $1,500 bag- even if I can barely make rent and I'm living off of raman noodles and tap water!) lol.

i would probabyly ebay one of my kids .. after all .. isnt that why we made more than one of them? and we can always make more right? :P J/K

Well I would try to save up for a while .... if that didnt work ... i would ask my husband to pitch in with whatever is left .. which isnt much usually ............
