What do you do when you can't afford a bag?

I try to only set my sights on something I know is attainable. For instance, I like most of you would LOVE a Birkin but it's not in my budget at the moment. I don't even know how easy/hard they are to get. I wouldn't even go that far until I know I have the $$$ to get it. It's more fun to me to pine for things you know one day (soon ... lol) you will have it!

I have been going through this for the past couple of days...There is a 28cm gold Kelly togo in Hermes here right now...I tried on a bluejean one last week, it's gone. I really want this kelly. I called Hermes in Balharbour and asked if they were getting any bluejean Birkins or kelly's or Gold (tan) color anything. The SA said I would NEVER find that there, it is so popular I would have to wait for years. So, here it is in Hermes sitting there but that means forgoing an entire 6 months of bags, clothes whatever... What would you guys do? I have decided to pass it up and have a good Vacation in a couple of weeks and buy alot more than just one $8000. bag.

stop buying ANYTHING ELSE. no shoes, no clothes, no food, NOTHING.

i'm for reals, yo.

lol  i showed that to my boyfriend and he had this look like :weird: and he said ... "you really did find a place with bag-obsessed people like you...!!!"

i am LOL so hard right now..

I will pass on everything including food. I work in a movie theater so I can eat the popcorn, candy, and drink the soda for free! It's not necessarily healthy, but...it works! :p

My "Goal" Bag?

A Special Order Natural Cowhide Keepall 50

Price?

$3,900 ($4,236.27 with my crummy NY taxes)

Projected order date?

July. lol :amuse:

lol well that fact that i don't buy food doesn't mean that i go hungry...i have a dining hall meal ticket paid for by my parents because i live on campus, and we actually have one of the better dining plans out there, the food is ok, so when i'm really jonesing for a bag, if it's not in the dining hall (or my boyfriend's fridge) i dont eat it, lol.

OMG, $8k for a bag? I mean a bag can bring me lots of happiness .. but I think a vacation would have much more sentimental value. Crazy.

Sell old bags that I don't like anymore or return something I may have bought but not worn yet and don't want as much...or try to save up. It's hard now thought because of waiting lists; if you cannot buy it when your name comes up you miss the chance...it requires a lot of strategic planning!

AND btw, Star I agree with supersaucy - take a fabulous vacation instead. You already have a FABULOUS bag collection and I think a trip somewhere really special is more worth it. As much as I love bags, memories last a lifetime, cheesy as it sounds...(think of all the wonderful places you could go...Thailand? Cambodia? The Maldives? Bora Bora? The Amalfi Coast? The Dalmation Coast? India? New Zealand? as you can see I am obsessed with travel)
