What do you do for living? Do you get to enjoy wearing your LV handbags to work

When I was teaching, I had a boy student look at my bag then tell me I ought to carry LV. I asked him why and he said, "Because if you carry LV you'll look rich." I laughed and said, "That is an LV and I am not rich." He said, "Na-uh, for real?"

I think something in him knew my Speedy DE might have been LV, but another part of him (the part of him that didn't know to pronounce it) seemed surprised to be "in the presence of an LV."

I am a hospital pharmacist for a very well-known Southern Ivy-League university (they hate being called that).
My work schedule has not change one bit since Covid. I show up at the hospital to work my shift, with about 20 other folks. In very tight quarters. I don't understand why the rest of the US was told to hide in their houses. Covid hasn't changed my life, hardly at all.
And yes, I am fully vaccinated.

Anyway.... yes. I rock my LV monogram Palermo PM and Speedy 30, my fav mono bags.
I also love my Damier Ebene Speedy 30.
And I've added a Birkin 35 to the mix.

My bags are a source of joy to me. They grace an otherwise dull day with elegance.

I really hope people don't think carrying LV is rich. I fell in love with LV 3 years ago, started purchasing LV bags, and love them so much. But still have no guts to buy monogram bags.

Some folks will, some folks won't, some folks won't have a clue. No matter.

Don't let my story bother you. This was a 14 year old boy from a lower economic household in a not so great school who had this thing for fashion. He was actually considering it as a career path. Really funny and sweet guy with a ton of personality. I hope he does go into some kind of design.

But his comment ought not influence you in any way at all. I just thought it was a funny moment.

Techie here, I work from home even before covic, only goes into the office maybe 2-3 times a year (mostly for laptop swaps or other stuff such I can’t do at home) I wear my bags whenever I get a chance, I don’t like getting dress up, so 99% of the time I’m in jean and sweats.

I'm a manager of a department at a big university. In the 10 years I've worked there, I've never seen anyone carrying a designer bag (even though some are very well off). So, despite having a few high end bags, I carry my Tory Burch Perry tote to work. I do carry a high end wallet inside, so at least I have that. It is a bummer that I only get to enjoy my designer bags on weekends, but I do not want to risk drawing unwanted attention among coworkers.

I have a similar job (mgr for a major university). Before working from home during the pandemic, I had no problem walking in with my Louis Vuitton bags. Most of my colleagues do not wear makeup, so I was already a rarity. While working from home the past year-and-a-half, I definitely have not dressed as professionally as I used to, but when I go out even to the grocery store, a Louis is with me.

I’m a Program Coordinator at a large Day Care Center. I use my LV’s daily. I discretely place my bags under my desk in my office to keep them safe. I try not to use my monogram bags as I don’t want to draw attention.

I work in healthcare. Let’s just say my main patient population are Covid and Cancer patients.
2020 was brutal and we worked our tails off.
I notice some nurses carry Gucci.
The managers and physicians usually have Burberry and/or LV. The male physicians love their Rolexes haha.

I carry a Tory burch bag. Nice and understated lol.
I do love my fine jewelry, watches and shoes. But usually they are a simple and clean design, they don’t attract too much attention.

I used to be worried about judgement at the workplace (being much younger than most people in my position) but the older I got and the higher I went up, the less I cared lol.
