I am a Bank Executive (Managing Director) for a global Bank and works in New York City. Prior to pandemic, I wear my bags everyday to work and try my best to rotate at least every week. All my LVs and Chanels are my workhorses....I carry them to work 95% of the time (the remaining 5% usually bringing Hermes Birkin, Kelly or Herbag) + on all my non work activities such as weekend errands and when on vacation. I enjoy using my vintage and discontinued bags alongside with my new ones.

I look forward to using my work bags again as we go back to to city and ease out of WFH.

I work in a tech company and definitely don’t feel comfortable wearing anything flashy designer to work. I usually cycle between a Tumi backpack, Longchamp pliage, or when traveling only, my Neverfull since it’s my travel workhorse bag. I don’t feel deprived or anything... it just doesn’t feel like the right environment since it’s a jeans and tshirt vibe. I’ve only seen one or two LVs period in the office myself, and I once got some sly smiles from an executive when she saw me wearing my Hermès Constance belt so after that I have felt very conscious of standing out in that way. She didn’t mean it in a nasty way, but I just don’t like to stand out iykwim.

I'm a paralegal and have been working from home since March 2020, due to the pandemic. Prior to that, I carried my bags to the office. There's only one other person that noticed and commented that she had the same bag. I will be going back in September, probably to a hybrid schedule. I plan to use my bags whenever and wherever I can! I love them all and enjoy rotating them! Today is Sunday and I've used 4 bags since Friday!

I am an MD and pre - COVID, used to rotate at various hospital locations - county, community, University and private. I carried my LV mostly ( monogram and DE patterns) but would also switch it up for a Coach, MK backpack or Dooney purse for the days at the County hospital (patient population dynamics) or community clinic (shared office space with people I was unfamiliar with). These days, I am usually at the university for shorter days and also have a virtual clinic (due to COVID - btw, I love WFH), so bags aren’t being worn as much, although they continue to get acquired, lol!

Moving forward, I would like to get the most use out of my LV’s and other similar designers to justify cost and enjoy them ( I do love them and as they say, life is short!) I also have worn out my contemporary totes / back pack as well and don’t think I want to re-buy to serve their previous purpose, would rather go for choices that are less conspicuous.

Also, no comments about my bags from work colleagues (at least in my presence), mostly “looks”. However, when my mono NF was still very brand new, one rainy day, I got a cover to protect the vachetta and my co- worker said “you need a cheap cover to protect your expensive bag?” I couldn’t be bothered to explain the issue of vachetta and water spots, so just said something to the effect of “ ikr, first world problems!”

Great thread!

I work in downtown Seattle and where my office is located is . . . dicey, to say the least (several colleagues have been assaulted on the street, our windows are smashed regularly . . . I could go on). I don't feel comfortable carrying an expensive designer bag to/from work, so I use my trusty MZ Wallace -- which, being nylon, is also great in the rain! My designer bags are for weekends and travel, so I always get excited to use them!
