Hi.. i am a critical care staff nurse and i only use my longchamp (le pliage eiffel tower) for work... i try to squeeZe it in my small locker i only use my lovely bags when i attend trainings/seminar/study days

I'm a CPA and currently carrying that same bag to work. I bought it at the Champs-Élysées store in 2016. I've been waiting for my next trip to Paris since 2018 to get my first LV.

I work in healthcare. Let’s just say my main patient population are Covid and Cancer patients.
2020 was brutal and we worked our tails off.
I notice some nurses carry Gucci.
The managers and physicians usually have Burberry and/or LV. The male physicians love their Rolexes haha.

I carry a Tory burch bag. Nice and understated lol.
I do love my fine jewelry, watches and shoes. But usually they are a simple and clean design, they don’t attract too much attention.

I used to be worried about judgement at the workplace (being much younger than most people in my position) but the older I got and the higher I went up, the less I cared lol.

Update, that Tory burch bag was sold end of last year. Too big and bulky for me.

It's been replaced with a much lighter Le Pliage Longchamp!

In the healthcare setting the most common designer work bags I see are LV, Gucci, and Burberry, no one really seems to notice or care about it that much. :P

I work in medical admin 100% from home so my bags go out for school pick up and on weekends. I used to carry them to work when I worked out of home (other medical admin/reception type jobs). I only have designer so couldn't take anything else. No one I know among my family/friends/colleagues really know what they are or cost or anything and I'm fine with that, best they don't know. Those who do probably think they're fake, good with that too. They're for me no one else. I come here when I want to discuss them with like minded people!

I am actually starting to wonder where these people are that care about what others have or do enough to comment. Or these workplaces where too showy is a no no. There's a few posts and threads around where people want to get a new bag but too obvious isn't appreciated at work.....I rarely come across anyone who knows enough about them to care or a workplace that would dictate what brand of bag you can carry.

I’m an elementary educator. I used to feel weird about it, then realized life is too short so I carry my stuff daily. I’ve had one comment to my face recently “how many bags do you have?! I can’t bring myself to buy one!” I just responded with “oh, I don’t have any issues buying at all”. When I was younger that would have bothered me. I’m older now and could care less what others have to say. I want to enjoy my things!

I used to work in themed entertainment design in Los Angeles and many people in that industry were so incredibly judgmental, gossipy, and just plain toxic. A lot of it I think is built into the industry because firms are always competing for clients, designers are always judging designs everywhere around them and being judged for their own designs. Jobs are all on a project basis so once a project is over people are competing with each other to get the next job, and hoping to step up the ladder a bit too. Being that it’s so competitive, people would definitely judge others by what they wore. One gal wore a Speedy once and that got some people gossiping about her getting paid too much. I felt I had to look professional, serious, but not too flashy or that would make people jealous and the claws would come out.

Thankfully, now I work from home in a completely different industry (marketing for a software company) I can wear what I want when I run errands.

Exactly. No one would dictate to someone what kind of car they could drive to work, so I feel like it shouldn’t matter what kind of bag you’re carrying either.

I feel the same way about people who might think my things are fake, I honestly don’t care. Same goes for those who want to know how much a bag was or why I’d spend that amount on a bag. Unless you’re a lover of luxury bags, you probably don’t understand it, but you don’t have to understand it! I would never ask someone else why they spend their money on whatever they choose to spend it on — firstly because it’s rude, but also because I’m just not that interested! These people who bother themselves with other people’s business to this extent must have an awful lot of free time on their hands.

THIS! I don't understand why some people are concerned about what others buy, wear, drive etc. I got some serious shade yesterday at an upscale deli and market for wearing a DE Speedy b 25, of all bags. This woman gave me and my cute speedy a once over and a dirty look. I just smiled and moved on. I should note that the parking lot at this deli is filled with expensive European cars. It's not like this was Walmart and a LV is unexpected.

Oh I see guess I don't pay enough attention to what others think I'd probably still have worn and used what I wanted. With my current role my standard "uniform" is track pants and slides then I have my designer bags if I have to do school run or dash to the post office. Doesn't bother me what others think they can judge away I don't need to impress them or explain myself. Everyone judges in some way in their thoughts it's just what we do. But I just don't care what people I have nothing to do with in my personal life think of me.

I used to work for a company where most the women I know love designer bags. They judge others based on the bags they wore and obviously the boss gets the most attention as she has the one with the biggest paycheck. I remember someone so protective of her Prada wallet and when it was time to pay she doesn’t have cash in it. (I used to live in a country where cash us king and she’s a local). It’s embarrassing how it went. In my current role there is only one woman who wears designer bags and she’s very subtle and discreet about it, but if you know brands, you know. ;) I agree bags are only one facet but can change people’s perceptions of someone really quick. I would personally not wear monogrammed bags in work as I’m in middle management. I wore the same bag as a director one time and I saw her switch to a different brand the week after…

I love my work and unfortunately I do not wear my bags in the office as it is downstairs

I work online so I have tons of clothes and bags I haven't taken out of my house for ages now. Now when all restrictions are lifted - it is TIME!!

I was a full- time teacher in private school settings for 25+ years, and I always carried my LV bags. It was a non-issue. I now work as a substitute teacher in both public and private schools, ani I continue to carry my LV bags. I don’t take my Chanel or Dior or YSL bags to school, however. I find my LV to be very functional and versatile and completely appropriate for daily use regardless of the setting.
