What bags do you consider to be "stealth wealth"?

I'd say BV, Balenciaga, Nancy Gonzalez.
I wouldn't include Hermes because it's a status symbol and very recognizable.
BV and Balenciaga don't even have their name on the outside but Hermes does.
IMO stealth wealth is without any name on the outside.

I think an item can have a name on the outside and still be considered 'stealth', but the logo has to be so subtle that only people that you allow to be in very close contact with you can read it! :D

After all, a stealth tank can be seen close-up, but as long as it cannot be seen easily at a distance (or detected on radar), it is still a stealth tank!

ETA: Actually, coming to think of it, a completely un-logoed non 'it' bag could be considered 'invisible wealth', couldn't it? Not merely 'stealth wealth'.

I think it has alot more to do with the selection of the piece vs. the brand....

From every designer, there are less known and less logoed pieces....

If we are talking the absolute subtleness...then I say BV, Balenciaga....they have no logos and it is totally stealth....

depending on the area, hermes. i know if you showed up around here carrying a birkin/kelly, to 90% of the population it'd just be a pretty bag. :smile1: otherwise BV, epi lv's, and leather gucci, prada (and don't shoot me) a few of the leather coaches (again...area). unless you're in the know, they're just quality looking bags.

Hermes, although scrumptious and the bag equivalent of a female Bill Gates :roflmfao: is recognizable, especially the Birkin
my vote is the Nancy Gonzalez big skin tote (don't know if its croc or alligator) TDF, and no logo anywhere

Croc screams money though....

Unless you're in a area (which would be 99.99% of the world) where people really don't carry genuine croc.

I am completely invisible (well, not totally, but somewhat) to SAs in Michigan (yes, at Somerset) when I carry a large glazed croc frame bag. I tend to pair it off with quirky, young clothing (which translates to "inexpensive"). Though I'm mobbed when I carry it around Fifth Ave.

Hard for me to say because I like learning about handbags.

Hermes Boide, Valextra, some Bottega Veneta (but not the woven leather bags or the exotic leathers), Louis Vuitton Epi, Louis Vuitton Suhali (but not the ones with lots of gold grommets--too flashy). Basically, very high quality leather handbags in classic shapes and no logo.

I don't think exotics are stealth wealth because they tend to be very flashy. I suppose in places where people don't carry exotics and would think yours are fake or embossed too, then in those cases they are stealth....

Hermes Birkin and Kelly, almost every woman who watched Sex and the City or reads Vogue would recognize its shape by now!

Stealth wealth? While Bottega Veneta seems like an obvious answer to me (more so than Hermes), I'd like to vote for VBH. They're spectacular bags. Very covetable. And only a very select few will recognize the logo or the unusual design elements.
