The most fashionable/expensive here are independent Icelandic desginers. Gucci, Prada, Louis Voutonn(don't know spelling) will make you look even quite silly because you never see anyone carrying them so they start to look odd.

The most hip among teens is a danish brand called Friis Company. Mainstreet stores such as warehouse and topshop are very expensive here (we're not exactly mainstream) so they are very popular.

But of course the most fashionable of all are exclusive mechendises from the USA, UK and others.

That's bags in Iceland in a nutshell.

Ohio: Tons of Coach, DB. Lots of no name. More "aspirational" women carry LV and Chanel, teens carry LV fakes. In authentic Chanel, it's mostly PST and GST and other large totes, few flaps. I almost never see real Balenciaga, Dior, YSL, BV, or Hermes.

I am happy to say here in NYC and in the suburbs, it is an eclectic mix of designers from YSL, LV, Gucci, BV, Hermes to Coach, DB, BR, MK, MBMJ. In the suburbs, depending on area, I see a lot of Prada, LV, Gucci and Coach. Whether we like it or not Coach reins everywhere. It is affordable and stylish. I don't mind their simple leather bags I just detest their signature bags. They make no sense to me.

I think the popularity of Gucci is a recent development in Toronto - until a few months ago I'd never seen a Louis Vuitton in real life, and now they are everywhere, and even more recently than that I'd never seen a Gucci and now there seem to be more of them every day.

I've always seen a lot of Coach, Guess, MK and the occasional Prada or Hermes.

Of course it could be me that has changed - until I found this site I didn't recognize any except the obvious logo ones!

in Düsseldorf Germany, there are lots of George Gina & Lucy bags. it's def a love-or-hate-style of bag! :D
And then Longchamp Le Pliage is really famous. I was carrying mine today (snow-rain-yuck), it like how it's resistant to anything.

Also maany variations of the LV Speedy! Mostly the 30, Monogram or Ebene!

Ah, Sweden, not a country with a tradition of expensive handbags... But as you said, Mulberry Bayswater is probably the most common bag I see too... Though, living in Umeå (far up north in Sweden) the only person with designer bags I've seen is myself :p

In Norway (probably mainly in Oslo where I live) the Mulberry Bays and LV Speedy are pretty popular, the Alexander Wang Rocco as well. But unfortunately I see a lot of fakes and cheap ugly bags. Not that a cheap bag needs to be ugly, but a lot of them are:s It's not often I see a person with a decent designer bag - apart from myself LOL!!!
