Unpopular opinion: I'd rather buy Chanel bags directly from the boutique. I cannot stress enough that children are working in poor conditions making super fakes, and even your trusted authenticator can be wrong. Sorry, I'd rather buy directly from the boutique.

Another unpopular opinion: Bags are not investments; buy them only if you really like them. And by investment i mean to expect them rise in price after purchasing.

Well here’s one UO from someone on IG. She believes H bags are better than Chanel. I beg to differ. The aesthetics are different. I still very much love Chanel and would never part with my classic bags. These “influencers” mainly care about flexing and are primarily into the latest fads. Chanel has decades of history behind it and it’s not going anywhere. Sure h is good quality and is having its moment but this type of turned up nose attitude re H is so off putting to me. part of the reason why I’ve been less interested in H lately. Hermes is not better than Chanel. I see them on equal grounds. With VV departed I look forward to the next chapter of Chanel. I will always be a Chanel client and I hope all those who’ve been poo pooing on the brand get shown the door when it gets back to being the “it” brand again. Though for those of us who still like it, it’s still the “it” brand to us.

Another unpopular opinion, some people overdo it with the bags. How many flap bags do you need that it totals 25 in total? I think some Chanel lovers get so lost in the sauce and hoard way too many bags just to say they own luxury goods from the Chanel brand.

I’d be fine with two or three bags I know I’d wear often rather than keep twenty bags I know I wouldn’t use that takes up space in my closet.

I agree. Hermes doesn't excite me even remotely close as Chanel aesthetic does. H bags are beautiful of course, but the style is totally different for a fair comparison. I think all these bloggers are just bragging really since they own hard to get bags that many people become desperate for. Following the latest trend to stay relevant instead of understanding who they genuinely are.

Same. Even the shoes are painful. Nothing from Hermes really makes me want to shop there!

She should invest in shoes.

I dislike the strange new policies. I just went to a boutique and was looking at the mini top handle and Kelly bag, they so many and had two of each on display. I asked can I see them the SA showed colours from the stock, I asked to see the colours that are on display… she said to me they won’t be able to sell them, I asked why and she was apologetic, apparently now the bags on display are not for sale. We both agreed this makes no sense when you display two of the same colour next to each other 😂

Agreed. I’d never buy second hand simply because as you say, even the most trusted authenticator can be wrong. Buy from boutique only to be absolutely certain on authenticity.

Just like at Hermes..display only..seems like Chanel is heading down the H route.

I do not understand the Hermes hype. They are fine. Certainly not ugly but not that exciting to have people losing their mind and crying about. I asked my fiance to have me committed to a mental hospital if i start asking for Hermes.
