well, what about those girls who are in the olsen girls' body type category but don't aspire to be like them at all and are not about being trendy. they may love having a big-sized bag out of necessity but feel uncomfortable because carrying one may not be proportionate to their body size-wise. i think in that case, a certain amount of confidence and attitude exuded may make them feel better in looking good and carrying it off well ;) JMO :flowers:

i totally agree with you on that one BooYah...

if you read my post to esile (#40) and all my other comments re big bags, you will see i have always maintained that it is different if you need a big bag. that being said, i can't believe there are many people who need to carry a weekender on an everyday basis.

i still disagree with the confidence and attitude comment. i have yet to meet someone who is scared of carrying a large bag. i too am the size of an olsen twin and am not concerned with whether i can pull it off -- i just believe they sort of look funny on smaller people. JMO. so when people ask about the larger bags (as the original poster did), my opinion is that they don't look that great on smaller women.

just as an fyi, i thought this board was a forum and as such, for discussion. people seem to be taking things way too seriously lately. you may notice that contributions to this subforum have decreased lately because there has been a new tone set and not a very friendly one. esile and i, mimi and i, and a few others seem to get along quite well and they do not seem to have a problem with my posts re big bags so i am not sure why others do.

chigirl i didn't mean for my comment to make you feel that way! i was just agreeing with with BooYah as i agree somewhat with what she had to say.
i thought my agreement was part of the discussion, as pointed out, is an intrinsic part of this forum.
people will agree or disagree about certain things here and i don't think, unless they are said maliciously or with malcontent, that they should be taken as a personal afront.
i totally respect your opinion on the matter and thought you had some interesting insights.
i have also decided that the weekender isn't for me as an everyday bag because i'm too little for it, sadly enough.

i'm sorry. your post had nothing to do with my last comment. my earlier posts though were made in response to your original post so i hope they helped as i was just trying to give a different opinion (mine).

yeah, that's why i started it! no problems chigirl! i agree with you that it is too big for an everyday bag for me. and it's a bit too expensive to only have to use for trips...oh well. i guess a work will be as big as i go!

chigirl, it's perfectly fine if you think that larger bags don't look great on smaller women. it's just for the rest of those who prefer to carry larger bags on a regular/daily basis but may not look at all proportionate on them, they should just do so in any case so long as it works for them regardless of what anyone else thinks ;)

please help me understand where i have helped in setting a new and unfriendly tone as i was merely responding to your post and that's all. i don't have a problem with your statement or opinion as you and everyone else here are entitled to one. so please help me by directing me where i've offended you and i'll do my best not to do it again :flowers:

did not mean that you have set any tone. i stated that a new tone has been set as of late (not the last few minutes). i completely support people wearing large bags --- i make fun of esile for it all the time. my point is that earlier in this thread people pointed to the olsen twins carrying one and nicole richie carrying one -- similarly when i posted my threads about big bags people pointed to them as examples of people who carry it off. my point was that there are plenty of celebs with attitude and confidence who choose not to carry large bags.

i am sort of done with this conversation. i am not angry or anything at all. i just think it is beating a dead horse.

I'm going to add my 2 cents :) - for me, it's not about what celebrity has my body type, what celebrity wore this, etc - those things don't matter at all to me. I say, if YOU truly like something on you, then you'll show comfort in wearing it and will be able to rock it well, and people will notice your confidence and the beauty ;) - if you're just doing it because you were inspired by a celeb, or think it's okay because of a celeb you'll probably come across looking like a clone. :shame: JMO.

Big or small, if you have it in YOU naturally - you'll rock it well! ;)

I agree with you Mimi, but I just want to clarify that by saying I like the olsen twin's bag before I don't mean I want to literally look like them or copy them (thank god!).:p It's just that I never see people wearing b-bags around here and so when I see it on someone similar to my size I sometimes find it really inspiring, or (in this case) it confirms something I already like (big-ass bags on petite girls), not that I am trying to look like a clone. :shame: (And I don't think inspired=clone. It's all how you mix it up and use it with your own style).
I agree, if you rock what you like you will never go wrong!:rochard: :rochard: (I've been waiting for the chance to use this smiley!)

^ aw I love that smiley!

Just so everyone knows I wasn't directing my comments to anyone in particular, just was stating what was on my mind hehe. ;)
