Thanks Sandra

Pardon me, what is WE? I have been to Paris this Jan, but of cos I still want to spend more time there...... 4 days when i arrive and another 3-4 days when I back from other cities in france.....

My priority will be sightseeing, then H... as I will end my trip in Paris, I am sure there will be enough things (not enough monies) for me to buy :D

Can you recommend accommodation in NICE?

Robee just come clean. You know that H is your priority and then when you run low on $$$ you will go sightseeing :D My hubby knows that once the bags are checked in our first stop is H! I'm not going to lie to myself because that would just be denial wouldn't it. :roflmfao: While I'm on my trip I will try to post daily about what I see. I'm leaving tomorrow night! I'm so excited. Hopefully I find something cyclamen or violet or raisin or anything really :D

As well if you do go to the South of France, down to Cannes and Monaco then you definitely need to stop in a little town called Grasse. It is absolutely beautiful and perfect. It is were a lot of perfumes are made in France and they actually have a perfume factory that you can tour there. It is only about a 10 minute drive from Cannes. Monaco, Monte Carlo Cannes are all beautiful If you go to Cannes then definitely check out where they hold the famous film festival every year. And also fabulous hops along The Croisette. There is also a nice marine and sea museum in Monaco and of course there is the palace in MOnaco you have to check out in the old part.....we have an apartment in Cannes. And yes the South of France is beautiful at Christmas. Hope you enjoy your trip!!

loves - normandy, that's when the D-day happened for 2nd world war right?

bluewin - thanks:)

mishkaluv - I hope so much about the beautiful south. It has to be a must stop destination.

Hi All, appreciate any inputs pls :D

Travel Question:

I been reading about Cannes is nicer than Nice. Will it be easier to stay in Nice and travel out to Cannes, Monte carlo etc, or shd I stay in cannes instead? I will love to add provence as part of my itinerary too:) I reckon with a 4 old toddler, it's easier to take it easy and relaxing.

Hermes Question: :graucho:

I will be flying in and out via Paris. I just wonder will I be able to pay for H items at FSH and keep them there till I back to Paris after my touring around France? I reckon I will have quite a bit to buy, I don't want to risk losing them as trolleying luggages, and a kid is no joke. Always phobia of losing things.

And If I want to buy an item and H has no stock, but will be able to bring them in like a week later, do they take deposit so that I can be sure of getting the item when I back to Paris?

robee, a trip to France is going to be so much fun! Paris is a must-see, Versailles is beautiful too...travelling down South requires minimally a week (better more, even up to 12 days or more), and might be a tad difficult with DS in tow, that's my personal view though. DH and I planned for Provence in August but the trip didn't materialise due to some family issue, however the planning alone took quite a while + there're a lot of towns to visit and driving is the best bet, especially if you mention DH might be impatient. Yet driving might be easier for some than others, depending on road sense etc. Requires patience as well due to quite a bit of travelling time.

Paris + Milan is do-able too, you would have to take a flight across to save time. Shopping-wise, Milan is okay but I think there's more shopping in Florence / Rome. Sight-seeing-wise, Rome would be the most for Italy IMHO. Paris + London is something you can consider as well :smile1: Less travelling time might be easier and more relaxing, when you have a toddler in tow.

I am not certain if you can "reserve items" at FSH (maybe other Tpfers can help on this), but if you are planning for Paris as your last stop, then maybe you can pick up your items then? Otherwise, I'd recommend picking up items you must have when you are at FSH first, but not everything as yet until you get back to Paris? Just a thought. HTH!

dreamdoll - I will not try to be very adventurous..... Maybe just Paris and down south for like 8 days. I am always keen on the Paris/Ldn idea  Can't get enough of Harrods :graucho:

Are u planning again to visit France soon?

Loves - DH will be very keen with Normandy. I am not sure how's my itinerary going to work out. Will keep you all update on it. Paris will be a must :graucho: and oops..FSH.....

dreamdoll - even though the holiday is 2 months away, I can't wait. When I first saw LV mothership, my jaws dropped.. i wonder what will drop this round when I pay my pilgrimage to H
