OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I bought this saddlebag in 1999 from Dior. I've worn it maybe 10 times so it's in BN condition. After a 5 year vacation I wore it a couple months ago because it went well with my outfit. Never really thought of the "dated" aspect...I just like it. I did get a bunch of compliments but I live in "fashion hell"...
what do they know! [emoji57]

I got such a good laugh out of this, a real belly laugh! :roflmfao:

Plus ... PLUS ... If anyone on these boards would have a saddlebag at the ready it of course would be you, Sky, and somehow that made it so much funnier. Just can't stop laughing! What a great Monday morning… I think I can take on the weak now ,,, no, no I mean the week!

LOLOLOL. U made me laughed so hard. I love your humor. Enjoy all your bags!

Thanks, girls!
I have a closet full of expensive "losers"...I need a handbag exorcist! Can never sell a damn thing...................
Had to have this bag AND the matching belt. Worn under 8 times so perfect condition...probably 10-12 years old??? Not as high profile as the Dior saddlebag but now that I think of it...trendy at the time. Don't think Carrie Bradshaw ever carried this bag...Thank God!
Prada Animalier...I must say the workmanship, leather and hardware are fabulous and unique!
Note to self...must wear this bag soon!!!

I love this thread. From time to time, I pull out my Marc Jacobs multi pocket bag. I'm still on the hunt for a reasonably priced Fendi B bag, Chloe Paddington, Marc Jacbs Stam, and Dior Gaucho and Street Chic.

I'm of the wear-what-you-love camp myself! If it complements my mood or my outfit, heck yeah I'm wearing it - doesn't matter how old or classic or non-classic it is. :)

I've seen some odd bags here and there that I wouldn't call staples... but if it makes you happy then go for it! I'm too conservative when it comes to my fashion choices and buy some boring-ish bags... The only bag I probably won't carry around anymore is my Juicy Couture terry cloth one heh.

Lol I'm looking for MJ Multi Pocket too. Oh I wanted Chloe Paddington but changed my mind after reading so much post of members wanting to sell that bag because it's too heavy.

I still carry my old MJ Stam once a while, and I wouldn't mind buying another MJ Stam in the small size (w/out handheld....just chain strap). Yesterday I just bought Dior Gaucho from eBay! Lol we seems to have similar taste in bags. I don't fancy Dior Street Chic though [emoji23]

I've seen some gorgeous bags around here! I wouldn't buy a real it-bag because even though i like the look of it, i prefer some more classic models of the designer houses (lv speedy, prada saffiano, lady dior,....). I'm into LV and I know some of their designs are more contempory than others. I only buy the icons, but I don't own a Neverfull because I feel that one is a bit more modern than a Speedy or a Noe. Even though i like the look of a Neverfull, I don't think I'll get one. Same with the MC line from LV, i seriously like it, but I won't buy it. It reminds me too much of Jessica Simpson flashing it around in her Tv show. But whenever I see someone carrying it, i admire that persons style and guts to rock it! I also respect that someone spent that much money on a more contemporary bag. It must mean a lot to them to be able to carry such a beautiful piece and that deserves nothing but respect.

Thanks, girls!

I really like that bag! It's beautiful. You should take it out more often.

 we all need bag exorcists here- just to put everyone's mind at rest, even though I'm into bags, I don't really recognise or date most of those IT bags. So it would be safe to say very few people would, everyone feel free to carry them with impunity. I now started selling my old Chanel bags ( the ones I no longer wear) on my blog, but I do wonder if I were to keep them a bit longer will they transform into valuable vintage.?

Some bags become classics, some vintage and some just Old and Dated. I have a collection of too dated to wear for my age but the kids love them. So I think it just depends. I can't image taking out the Dooney with the Duck, HCL, Bally, Givenchy, Mark Cross, Coach, Gucci Boston or LV speedy, Jimmy Choo Ramona, Chloe Paddington ot Marc Jacobs w pockets. I do love my older Tods, Fendi, Bal, and Chanel. If only I could figure this out before I bought them but they were fun in their day. Garage sale anyone? :graucho:

but do you think it's appropriate to wear an old bag to a gala party, not vintage, just from some old collection?

If you don't know how to style your outfit, even new trendy bags will look tacky. If you know how to style your outfit, even old "it" bags will look cool.

Wear what you think looks good and not what other people think you should wear based on their own unknown variables of judgement.

I understand what you mean. I have a sac clous from Balenciaga from 2007 and I struggle to carry it because I feel it looks dated. I have contemplated selling, but I know I would not get what I'd want for it.
