I broke down and sprayed my batik pigalles and my Alexander Wang suede/leather Kirsten bag-and everything came out perfect! Thank you Nat, for your excellent advice.

I asked my SA at the boutique about water proofing the LDs and she said she would defer to the cobbler since they've been dealing with Louboutins forever ... *shrugs* Since you girls have done it I will likely just buy the spray and do it myself. They said it "dulls" the finish but I have hear the exact opposite from you ladies here LOL

I did get them back yesterday and have been "breaking them in" for the past 2 days. Man these suckers make me tall ..

Thanks for all the feedback on the LDs and spraying them.

Maybe it dulls them over time instead of being an instantaneous thing...??

Could be ... I don't know. I know I will be heart broken if someone spills wine on them and they have to be "repainted" that would suck.

I guess though, in the long run, these and the RB WS Bianca's will have to be re-done so if I spray them now and they dull I figure I would have to re do them anyway at some point.

I'm not going to worry about it now, I am not sure I am going to be wearing these out quite yet. If I do wear them next weekend, they are being carried into the venue and put on there and taken off before I leave. The place is pretty good and I don't think I have to worry about spilling.

I'm wondering if water stains is even a problem since the skin is already covered in paint, which would already be a water barrier no?

That's a really good point that I hadn't even thought of ... I would imagine that the paint would offer some sort of barrier but how much, that's the variable.

I'm not going to worry about it too much ... but y'all will be the first to know if something happens if I DON'T waterproof

Thank you so much for the AMAZING advice. Recently purchase was a pair of python very prives {copper / grey color- on Ebay from seller on "safe" deals / steals list}. LOVE them for more casual / trendy outfits.

Have already conditioned them w/ Bick and weatherproofed w/ the spray & no color changing or dulling here. Almost had a heart attack walking to my car in the rain yesterday but they are fine... Me = happy camper ;)

Thanks for the advice. I have just sprayed my Rosella watersnake flats..it's given me confidence to use them although the thought of scuffing the lovely red sole is rather off putting;)

Here are my 3 babies after having their 2nd spray, all looks fine
